Post Your Favorite Metal Here!

I am looking for a blues-inspired, heavy metal style band, strong lead guitar, guitar solos, and, preferably, death metal-ish vocals... does this exist?
I am thinking... old danzig with death growls. In the hundreds of bands I have listened to over the years, I can't seem to find this. Am I to give up hope? Can someone save me?

From what I have heard, most metal guitarists have a real problem with the blues scale. They spend most of their time with chromatic runs.

Yes, but heavy metal guitarists can do it, they are just often behind either bad vocals or even good but clean vocals.
My dream band is danzig with death growls...

Maybe some can. But not all, probably not most.

I have heard a few who TRIED to do a blues solo and messed up so badly that I could not listen....

Here is an example. It is a metal band that I used to listen to a LOT but this track? The "blues" guitar solo starts at about 1:32 and is HORRIBLE blues. the note choices are all over the map. But it is typical of what guitarists that are used to chromatic scales do when confronted with blues.

That's where I am at. I'll always keep searching though...

Do you like something such as Disciple's Battle Lines? I think there is even some screamo thrown in. The lyrics seem hard hitting and Biblical.

I checked that out, and it was ok. I prefer a little more music involvement... they have heavy emphasis on the vocals, with the instruments sort of drowned out in the back ground.
Also... the basic verse-chorus-verse-chorus structure is a little off putting.

I know, I am picky.

I think you must like it loud, heavy with plenty of rasping screamo but also with plenty of instrumentation, right?

With Disciple, anyway, they seem to have Biblical lyrics.

John's First Epistle - short but intense - has a lot of word imagery about light and darkness.

Another band that was AMAZING... then went downhill. Sold out. However. Stop what you are doing right now! Listen to the entire album, clayman. One of the greatest musical pieces I have ever heard. Mmm

The first link is now dead (at least, on my computer), but the second one I have been listening to! Is Satellites and Astronauts a specifically Christian band?

@BriannaRose, have you heard Dan Swano's Moontower album? It's basically progressive rock with death metal vocals. I don't like it because of the vocals, but it might be something you'd enjoy.
