Getting to know you......

A photograph of a photograph of my mum and dad on the occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1991 .

They were married in 1941 when my dad was on army leave . After a short honeymoon , my dad had to return to the army , and they wouldn't see each other again until after the war .

On the morning of their anniversary they went with a few family members to the church where they were married . Mass was celebrated as they knelt on the very spot where they had made their marriage vows exactly 50 years previously . They said that this Mass was the highlight of their day .

The town's art gallery which , among other things , contains the largest collection of Tiffany Glass outside of the USA .

Originally it was a 17th century farmhouse , but the lady who lives there tells me that parts of it date back to the 1500s .
