I love all animals except the one's that creep me out like snakes and spiders. After I peel myself off the ceiling at first glance, I can accept them, as long as the the door is within acceptable proximity to me.
I have this thing about pets. I think the term was coined because you can pet them. lol

I for one love cats more than Dogs, because they are closer to my personality. They are laid back and aren't really excited unless they need to play and then they are a riot.

I used to own a black cat that was so smart she could retrieve small things that I threw around the room and that talent she had inside of her, I didn't teach it to her at all.

We, at one time lived near a stream and more than once she awoke me up with a severed body part of a small animal that she had hunted down an killed. I remember waking up to the sight of a Rabbits head, right after the movie The GodFather came out. Boy did that bother me.

I have a cat who bosses me around. LOL. his morning routine is set, and he let's me know it.
he is highly intelligent.
He figured out on his own while still a kitten how to communicate his needs and wants to me, via his body language.

I had the privilege to care for both. Scratched arms and legs, furniture and all, I enjoyed my time with cats.:whyy:

Wee-wee accidents, puppy eyes, pillow feathers flying all over, chewed on shoes...dogs are still awesome.:unbelievable:

So hard to say which I preferred the most :ahem:

Why not a choice with both??
I've had several of both--love them both. Cats are sooo independent. You can train them to do tricks, but they'll do them only if they feel like it. They do the craziest things and curl up in the craziest places to sleep. I have 2 dogs at this time, and even though both are getting old and one has health issue and pees all over our new laminate floors now, we love them both. We're getting old, too and may be peeing all over the place soon too!!! We just try to keep taking him out more and more often. I wish I knew how they know what time it is without a wristwatch! They know exactly when it's time eat and when they get their treats and their pills--which are really the same thing as they get their pills in their treats.

One is 15 (the princess) and my other baby is 4 (princess in training :) )

Awesome!
I bet the training in process is quite a sight. Tee-hee!
I miss the time when my mum's cat had a litter of 8 and they were all climbing on me. I looked like
This--> :ueee::unbelievable::tantrum:
The cuteness was too much!

I had a St. Bernard. 200 lbs of muscle in his prime---a kitten fell from the attic born to a wild cat--kept it--brought it in and threw her on him--little thing hissed at first then settled right into his fur--she would try and nurse on him, his belly had little red welts on it and once in a while you'd hear him yelp when she got too energetic at it! They were inseparable until he had to be put to sleep. She had one litter of 5 kittens before we got her fixed--she was 5 mths and I thought that was too young to get pregnant---WRONG! The 5 would crawl all over him and he'd help lick them clean. As soon as the kittens were weaned we took her in to get fixed, she was already pregnant!--brazen hussy--vet terminated the pregnancy, wasn't very far along. After we put him down, she changed, for 2 weeks she mourned, wailing while sitting in his bed (a sleeping bag with a foam mat inside)--her wailing broke your heart. After that she came around only for feeding time. It was like she blamed us for him not being there, she saw us take him in the car and came back without him. Eventually, she went to another home where there was another dog, she stayed there.
I also had to hand nurse 4 kittens whose mom was killed. They're eyes weren't even open yet. I put them in a box and bought a little bottle for them with cat formula and every 2 hrs they screamed for food, then I had to take a wet wash cloth to their bottoms so they could poop and pee--what their mother would have done. It was great when they got old enough to poop and pee on their own!!

I have both a cat and a dog. The dog treats me like a master and the cat treats me like a servant. I travel a lot and I find the cat is almost impossible to travel with. He hates it! Chester (my dog) loves to travel with me. I have a very special bond with my dog so I would have to say I prefer my dog. I have lyme disease and once I got a dog he actually helped my physical and emotional state. That's why he holds a special place in my heart. I think God put animals on the earth for human's benefit. :)

I'm not really fond of cats (except when they're just little kitties) and I kind of get nervous I'm around one, fearing that it'll scratch me or something. Dogs on the other hand are just amazing creatures. When they're just puppies it's irresistible not to kiss them and cuddle with them. They're just too precious and super adorable.

I am a firm cat lover. I have two cats now...Cuddles (11 y/o) and Bella (2.5 y/o). There were times that I have thought about getting a dog but then I watched a friends dog and realized how much more work and expensive they are compared to cats. Don't get me wrong, I like dogs. But that is all...I LIKE them. But I don't think I could have one as a pet for a couple reasons. 13 months ago my son and along with one of his other friends, was bit by one of their friend's dog that he absolutely loved. That dog has been put down now because the same dog that big my them, also bit another kid. I too was bit by a dog when I was little....2 dogs for that matter. One dog bit me in the face and another in my hand and I still have the scars to prove it. So, yes I like dogs, but that is all. :)
