Ever heard the one that Jonah was swallowed up, not by a whale, but by a spacecraft that could go under water?

Yes I heard that one.The Bible said it was a fish. So, I believe the Bible.Ever heard the one that Jonah was swallowed up, not by a whale, but by a spacecraft that could go under water?

Jonah 1:17 Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.A whale is not a fish, they are mammals.

Plus, the bible uses metaphors so it doesn't have to have been a literal whale anyways.
Jonah 1:17 Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
Jonah 2:
10 And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.KJV
OK so it was not a whale. Maybe it was... leviathan! I still believe the Bible
When we look at scripture and call it a metaphor, then we start reading things into the scripture that is not there, thereby changing the words of God. Just because we cannot visualize a seven headed monster coming up out of the sea, doesn't mean God can't produce one. Remember, the Israelites wandered in the wilderness for forty years. Their shoes nor their clothes wore out, they ate manna from heaven, they had a fire by night, and a cloud by day. God can do anything.Well the Hebrew word simply means anything in the water with a tail that swims. The only sea creature large enough for a man to live inside of would be a whale but that was a minor point. Mainly we should be flexible to accept the possibility that sometimes the bible uses a metaphor. Here it could be something other than a living sea creature and is called a "fish" just to simplify things just as in Rev 13 we know a giant 7 headed dragon isn't literally coming out of the water.

I believe our Father is able to communicate what He means through His Word.

If that is the way you believe it, have at it.God uses metaphors on purpose. Fish might mean a fish or it might mean something else.
MWood. It was John's vision as he saw it. But we cannot continue to talk eschatology here in this thread because the mods will move our thread to the eschatology forum. But we can talk about Jonah and whether his fish was an alien craft as some suggest.Give me the scriptures in Rev 17 that show that this beast with seven heads is a metaphor.
Give me the scriptures in Rev 17 that show that this beast with seven heads is a metaphor.
Rev 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
Rev 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
The heads are not heads they are metaphors for mountains which is territories.
Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
The horns are not horns but are metaphors for ten kings/rulers over these 7 mountains.
We could take it a step further and say that it wasn't made of any kind of metal, but something resembling flesh or spirit or biological material, or that it was a living creature, that could travel through space and go underwater...Yes I heard that one.The Bible said it was a fish. So, I believe the Bible.

He said it was a fish.
How would he know a fish from a biological spacecraft? He would say it was a big fishHe said it was a fish.
Well if we look at Matt. 12:40. Lord Jesus said it was a whale in the KJV, but in the NASB it is translated sea monster. How would he know a fish from a biological spacecraft? He would say it was a big fish
