This reminded me of the vision given to Peter in Acts.

Manna from the heavens, lechem-artos, (Exodus 16:15, John 6:32) surely unleavened.

The children of Egypt migrated to a mountainous region and discovered something with the texture of a wafer that only appears with the dew, but melts when the sun hits it, 'What is it?'

The children who have never been to Egpyt, yet who live in the mountainous regions will tell you that, you have perfectly described a Mushroom! A variety that is sweet, with a hint of Cilantro.

This food became a parable of our daily bread received via the New Covenant, which was offered unto the children of Israel who were too frightened at that time to see his fire, and hear his voice.

Not off hand, but the local fertilizer puts off a small mushroom that literally blooms with the dew, and melts when the sun hits it, (though not all) many mushrooms snap like a wafer;

Yet, I speak with the authority of a child, for it is the only food on earth that I know that does this, if such a (sweet) mushroom (with a taste like Coriander) actually exist, Google may be able to shed some light on the issue;

Coriander has a few names that I'm aware of, Chineese parsely, Cilantro, etc., both mushrooms and Coriander are among the medicinal foods, I'll see what I can dig up.

I actually just came down stairs to cut some (unknown) perenial variety of Coriander (cactus like) plant for my spaghetti I'm cooking, when I noticed your reply!

I was mistakened to assume that both the seed and leaf taste alike, someone described the coriander seed as a mellow lemony lime flavor;

I did find a Wikipedia article on 'Manna' where "ethnomycologists, including Terence McKenna, have suggested that most characteristics of manna are similar to that of Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms...."

They go on to say...

"These peculiar fungi naturally produce a number of molecules that resemble human neurochemicals, and first appear as small fibres (mycelia) that resemble hoarfrost."

Prior to that I found a very interesting article called "Tom Volk's Fungus of the Month for October 2004"

In it he describes the Hydnum umbilicatum, (aka the sweet tooth mushroom) as...

"....the most delicious of the edible fungi, prized for their somewhat sweet taste.... and fruity in fragrance...."

He goes on to say, "Hydnum umbilicatum is probably the least prized of the Hydnum species.

Although usually delicious, it takes a lot more bending down to pick these scattered mushrooms to get enough for a meal."

The notion of, "...here a little, and there a little..." comes to mind.

The article has a few photographs of white mushrooms, yet mentions, "....reports that some populations of this species have a foul or bitter taste."

And consequently "...flavor can vary greatly among strains or populations."

One notable, yet contrasting feature between these two mushrooms is, one has a remarkable ability to attract insects, and the other has a remarkable ability to detract them.

Both articles are an interesting read.

As for manna I was speaking of a slightly different type. Recently I did happen to see where someone posted some image files of it elsewhere around here. Seems this type of manna comes with varying types of stems, branches, caps, and horns.

The answers are found, as usual, in the teachings of Yeshua. For example the rider of the second horse, the red, is given a great machaira sword which is the common word for a literal sword but also used for the sword of spiritual warfare, (as in Matthew 10:34) while the rider of the chloros-green horse has the rhomphaia which is only used of the swift double edged sword that proceeds from the mouth of the one called the Word of Elohim in Revelation 19:13-15, (this sword pierces to the heart and soul, as in Luke 2:35, and the only other places it is found are all in the book of the Revelation of Messiah Yeshua). As for battle bows and spiritual warfare, king David taught the same, and it is not about physical warfare and literal killing but rather the things of the kingdom of Elohim, (as in the lamentation over Shaul from 2 Samuel 1:17-19).

Revelation 6:8 And I looked, and behold a chloros horse: and his name that sat on him was Thanatos-Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the land, to slay with rhomphaia-sword, and with famine, and with death, and with the beasts of the land.

Revelation 2:22-23 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will slay her children with Thanatos-Death: and all the congregations shall know that I am he which searches the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

So then, for those who claim the name of Messiah Yeshua; fool around with Jezebel and Death is on his way, to slay your hellion spiritual offspring, (for your own good). And Sheol and Abaddon are before Adonai: how much more the hearts of the sons of men! No wonder Yochanan was weeping when no one was found worthy to open the seven sealed flying megillah.
