• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I am so disappointed in my past choices. I have been reading a lot about forgiveness and moving forward, and it helps me to be reminded that I am forgiven by God. However, it doesn't take away the fact that the things that I regret got me where I am today and without them my quality of life would probably be 100000x better. I don't know how to let that go. So here I am stuck with these feelings of regret and sadness.

Welcome to the club. I deal with past choices almost daily. Each time I am confronted by one, I, as an authentic Christian, turn to 1 John 1:9. When it is a past choice that wants to haunt me over and over again, I simply say, "Back off, brain! I'm forgiven!" Reason: That which hits me again is not from God, not from the Holy Spirit, not from our Blessed Savior. It is that old sinful nature whirling around in the brain, trying to establish a foothold. However, I am clad in the whole armor of God....even my foot.
