Greetings and God Bless to you all, I hope the warmth of the Lord our God has found you today in spite of this weather. Lately i've been thinking about making some kind of return to Christian society, but i'm not sure if I can. For many years i've spent all my time among those who hate the bible. I rebelled against Christ and took up arms against the Lord our God back in 2005, I was miserably defeated and left broken in 2012. During times of isolation I found my way back to the Lord and to my master Jesus Christ.

I enjoyed these times of isolation and was able to not only strengthen my understanding of the faith, but see it in a new light a light in which one should follow Christ as someone to become. We are his followers, so we should follow him directly instead of saying "oh well he's the son of God, so you can't be like him, go listen to a church leader instead". I prefer to dedicate my life to replicating him, as his follower. Yes he is the son of God, but so are all Men.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the way and the life, none shall travel through the father but through him. But I believe you still have to travel! He showed us the road, but we still have much to learn and to do, if we are to chase his glory. He is related to each and every one of us, by the holy spirit. If a man were to spend all his time, meditating, praying and striving to understand Jesus Christ, then I believe he will change permanently.

Anyone who chooses to follow a master, is essentially saying that they want to be like them. What's the point of putting so much into your master, only to never get closer to them? Could you imagine trying to learn Martial arts, but never consulting your *Actual* master? But someone else who has their own agenda? How would you get better? Same with religious pursuits, we should be striving to better manage the storm within us. Through the teachings of our Lord.

I don't want to bore you but I have a lot of feelings on the faith that don't seem to be replicated in the Churches. I've seen hour long sermons that don't even mention one direct quote from Christ. So I'm searching for a place to talk about the Lord other than my own friends, because majority of my friends are not religious.

Welcome. The Oriental Orthodox forum here is pretty quiet (by their own admission, not mine) but I am sure they would love to have another member. The Eastern Orthodox is somewhat more robust; I know they would also welcome you warmly. Hope you find a good place here.

Hello. It's very good to see someone dedicated to our Father. I don't know much about Oriental-Orthodox, honestly I don't care much about denominations. In my opinion there are 7 churches mentioned in Revelation 2 that do good in Jesus' sight, 5 that don't and there is NO mention of denomination and there are 2 main churches on earth. God's church and the synagogue of satan. It doesn't matter what denomination you belong to, if you are chosen and have the drive and act upon it you are a member of God's church, if not you are a member of the synagogue of satan. Like you I strayed and fell from grace but have been redeemed as of late. I truly believe and know this is for a reason and it's Biblically documented. God bless you, Continue in God's work and I pray that your Love for the Father leads you to let his light and love shine so that others can see him through you and be saved.

Thank you my friend! Yes, the different groups are all on the side of the light! We may word some things in other ways, but at the end of the day we stand against evil with the support of Jesus Christ. It's odd but I feel like it's easy to get confused in the USA(where I live), and get this notion that being a kind, human rights centered person is not compatible with being Christian. That contributed to my fall from grace. What depresses me is how my parents told me that from age 5 to about high school, I was extremely devoted to the word of God. But in the end I returned to my old ways thanks be to God.

agree with you. Nowadays we are actually the enemy of human civil rights. "christians" (I use little c because most of them are not true Christians) are demonized and slandered now in the media stating that if we're allowed to be in any form of office or are allowed to have our say we will take away the rights of everyone, and if people don't think the way we do (which to them is just closed minded and quite frankly idiotic) if in a position of authority we will imprison them or worse put them to death. This is what I mean about people being members of the synagogue of satan. Because of them it's nearly impossible for us to get the true message across. I live in the U.S.A also. I know what it's like to get looked at cross-eyed when I say that I'm a Christian. It's even harder when I live in the south and I among "christians" that gives us a bad name. The ones that protest and spew hate. I have to try that much harder to separate myself from their teachings.

Welcome to Christian Forums! @civilwarbuff is right that the Oriental Orthodox forum is fairly quiet, but we have an active Eastern Orthodox forum (http://www.christianforums.com/forums/the-ancient-way-eastern-orthodox.145/) with several regulars who are Oriental Orthodox. I hope you stop by our forum to visit!

Thank you, I will! Everyone is so nice here!
He he give it time and go to a few theology forums, you won't think so lol. I joke but don't let people like that get you down even though there are some that are pig headed know it all's and a few atheists and humanitarians who I think just get on here to try to get a rise out of us and see if we will go against what we preach so they can say "HA gotcha" Most people here are very nice, they want nothing but to follow you and uplift you. I even have quite a few people that message with me privately and help me study the Bible. They are a blessing and a love in Christ I consider them a great study tool right along with a concordance and a dictionary without them I could not have gotten as far in my learning. I'd be happy to talk with you to if ever you're bored lol.

Lol you're referring to trolls yes? Yeah i've run into people like that before, but I'm very steeled in my faith so those conversations don't last long. Not because I convince them, but because pretty quickly they give up. I spend so much time researching the words of the great minds of the past....that i'm never going to care what another random person claims to tell me, because if i'm wrong then my research will prove me wrong. Which has happened so many times lol.

And thanks, I'm always up for a good discussion!

I'm like you. Most of the time they get tired but sometime unfortunately my lack of political correctness gets the best of me. I have the habit of speaking the truth no matter how it sounds and if it offends or not. Most of the time atheists realize I'm not like most "christians" that they run into and they can't get the best of me but other times they just don't want to be preached to or they get tired of me saying things like only the real stupidity of atheists will be tolerated and they just leave lol

I applaud your conviction, but perhaps the folly of the atheist stems not from stupidity but from a fragment of intelligence. They are usually well read and educated, hence the belief that they have the answer. Which takes the form of them not allowing anything "supernatural" into their minds. However, the laws of nature and space exist because of God. Anything that happens, that isn't done by humans is done by nature.

Nothing that God would do, or Jesus would preach...could go against nature for they are the essence of nature and the very source of it. So an atheist is easily convinced that the Bible is wrong just because people can be proven wrong, or because there is no evidence of strange things happening. But just because we as people don't understand every word of it, doesn't mean that our faith is incorrect. Because only God is perfect, we may be imperfect followers but he expects that. Our journey is enough.

The way I see it everyday reminds me of how perfect Jesus actually was. When he said let he who has eyes see. Things that are so simple happen around atheists everyday and their eyes are shut to them, they just aren't willing to see them, and you can explain the most simple of things to them but they just can't comprehend it. I put myself in his place when I talk to them and try to imagine not slamming my head against a wall especially when he spoke in parables and I try to make things as simple as possible and they still don't get it lol.

I loved every page of those books! Well, at least of the ones I pointed out :). I'm glad you read some of it!

Maybe I should pull it out again and read it as well. It's a good book to read AGAIN even after you read it the whole 1500+ pages through! Lol
