Based on Ephesians 5:15-17.

Be vigilant my soul, take care where your feet stroll.
Walk worthy of your call, which is worth more than all.
For you must demonstrate to men, God has power to free from sin.

Time is a gift from God, have your feet always shod.
We're in an evil day, and could be swept away.
Let us spend our time in God's Word, then in His will our minds He'll gird.

In Christ we must abide, if we would onward stride.
He is the path, the gate; which keeps our pathway straight.
So follow Christ that men may see, the Son of Man can set them free.

That was nice.
Thank-You for sharing..I am however wondering why you have views and nobody posted.
It may be due to the 3rd line..which states;
"For you must demonstrate to men, God has power to free from sin."

Probably not understood. I do however know what it can mean and if it does ; it would be a true statement ; but I also know what others may think it means. Which would make it improper to them...
I also know that statement (3rd line) to some it may be improper due to their personal stronghold and /or bondage if they understood it as I did/ do, it being a statement of truth.

Can I ask, what did you mean by that line?

We are called to walk in a manner worthy of our calling. God gives us the power needed to carry out this calling. The message of this poem takes into account the entire message of Paul's letter to the Ephesians. Chapter 1-3 emphasize God's power at work in the believer. Chapters 4-6 emphasize our demonstration of that power.

I would be happy to elaborate further if you like.

I was just curious what you meant by "For you must demonstrate to men," demonstrate what to what men?
Oh! Demonstrate to men that God does have the power to free from sin. The Gospel message is that God makes men free to live in a manner that pleases God. Therefore, the way we live ought to prove that message. Of course, Christians sin everyday, but the power of God enables Christians to hate that sin and want to turn from it.

So do they actually turn from it ? I heard people say I hate this sin but I know I will do it again tomorrow.
Wonder what this means.

1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Hopefully, the person saying that is sad about it, and will try not to sin. The sad reality is that, even though God saves a person, they will always sin until they die. Consider what Paul, the Apostle says about himself, in Romans 7:21-24.
But this does not mean that we don't enjoy any success in our fight against sin and temptation in this life. If we are careful to pray, and study the Bible, and avoid temptation then we will have an easier time in our battle.
That is what this poem is about; being careful how we walk before God. We need to be vigilant (on the lookout). We do this by avoiding temptation. We need to walk in a worthy manner. This means taking necessary steps (pun intended:)) to do what God tells us to do in His Word. But the most important thing that will help us to fight against sin is in the last verse of the poem:
In Christ we must abide, if we would onward stride.
He is the path, the gate; which keeps our pathway straight.
So follow Christ that men may see, the Son of Man can set them free.

This means trusting Jesus for everything that He is, what He has done, and promises to do. Matthew 1:21
Paul went on in Romans 7 to say, "Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

Thank you for taking time to explain..Romans 7 is their justified scripture ..favorite for certain
they pull it out when they should be wearing and pulling out Eph 6.. wear like a necklace "Justification charm" grab it, kiss it and say "Paul said" you like Paul right? Or, Paul said in Roman 7 then ride on Paul not knowing him or what else he said or even caring what else he had written, or when in his walk, with God he said that..or even know what he was referring to ... they just know (think they know) "That Romans 7" = justified period; but they often forget to read the next line!
They stop short in their defensive justification speech (for sinning every day sometimes the same thing for years no sorrow, not even say I struggle, nothing not even a teeny tiny change in countenance, )..right there if I say, Oh but keep reading, they (some) let go of that charm they were just kissing and let it drop to their chest and then tuck in inside the shirt..Some continue to defend their sinful deeds and just know they will do it again..They probably didn't read in John He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1John3:8. remarkable. Romans 8 is remarkable too..

Nonetheless, I enjoyed your poem, thanks for sharing.
