Welcome! There is on CF.com a tutorial "How to be a Christian."
If you live in Kerala or Malabar, you might want to look for the Nasranis: they are the ancient St. Thomas Christians, who have been in India since around 50 AD. The following are Nasrani denominations:
Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church
Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church
Syro-Malabar Catholic Church
Malankara Catholic Church
Independent Syrian Malankara Church
Mar Thoma Syrian Church
Assyrian Church of the East

Elsewhere in India, one will find the Anglican/Protestant Church of North India and Church of South India, and the Roman Catholics. The Church of South India uses a liturgy based in part on the worship of the Syrian Orthodox Indians. These churches tend to be more ethnically diverse than the Nasranis, who historically comprised a caste and were in prior centuries discouraged violently from accepting, for example, Dalits (as they were regarded as a high caste, and would have been downgraded to low caste status otherwise, not unlike the Parsees). However, unlike the Parsees, the Nasranis do accept converts.
A major difference is that Nasranis tend to worship in Syriac or Malayalam, whereas Hindi or regional languages are more likely to be found in the all-India Protestant and Catholic churches. However, both groups do use English.

The mode of reception for all of the churches I have outlined is baptism followed by confirmation or chrismation. Baptism I should note would not be a novel experience for most Hindus, owing, for example, to Kumbh Mela.
