No, I was just curious who has seen what this Season and what people like.

I've only really liked the show Erased (Boku dake ga Inai Machi) this season. It seems to be the best Anime so far. Although there are many anime that are average or slightly above average. I am looking forward to several Anime in the Fall season though. Seems to be a much better season.

A majority of this seasons Anime is on Crunchyroll including Erased. The only one that isn't that I like watching is Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash. But, It's mostly just an SAO wanna be clone.

Yeah, netflix doesn't have much in the Anime Department. I've had a Crunchyroll sub for about a year and a half now and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I paid/pay $6.99 ish a month for a Crunchyroll sub (but you can watch many for free. You just pay for HD and ad free watching and they have legal manga scans on there too for premium members only) and Crunchyroll usually has all of the episodes of a show. The only exception at the moment that I've seen is Detective Conan it only has Episode 720 something - 808 or whatever episode we're on this week...

They update everything weekly though and definitely have more Anime than netflix does.

You mean like movies and stuff? I don't know, I haven't watched Netflix since they stopped doing DVDs by mail. I think my niece was only a few years old then. I don't really watch many movies or regular TV shows. Up to a few months ago, I didn't even watch Prison Break. It was just on Hulu and I was like, what the heck?

Well they have a big stash. Bleach, death note, soul eater, full metal alchemist, SOA, blue exorcist, and many many more

A majority of those are on Crunchyroll as well. The only ones that aren't are Death Note and Full Metal Alchemist.

All are okay Anime. Bleach is one of the better ones of the set but, had way too many filler episodes. Toshiro Hitsuguya was the best Character of the series and his Lieutenant (I forget her name) was one of the worst. I personally didn't care for Death Note at all. You could predict exactly how it was going to go every single episode and, I could predict the ending from pretty much the first episode. Too cliche and predictable, kinda boring, and overhyped in my opinion. I just don't like Anime where you can predict nearly every single thing that's going to happen from the very first episode. Or Anime that you know aren't going to be any good from the very first episode but, you watch them anyway just because you're bored and want to be proven wrong. You're usually never proven wrong though.

Mirai Nikki was a vastly superior Anime to Death Note with an extremely similar theme. Although I guess you could predict the ending from the beginning too... It's a good thing the OVA was completely unpredictable and offered a "happier" closure to the series.

What's your favorite Anime though? When I personally ask myself this question It's so hard to answer because, I've watched literally hundreds and hundreds of Anime. I'm one of the few people I know that can scroll through Crunchy Roll and say "Seen it, Seen it," to nearly every single title that they have.

I've watched many good ones and many bad ones, and many superior ones but, I'd have to say if I had to pick one particular Anime I'd probably pick Rurouni Kenshin.

Due to the art style, plot, and general theme. Plus, all of the OVA's that they've made were ALL fantastic.

It's easy for me to pick the worst Anime though, School days. That had the most screwed up ending in Anime history.

Its easy for me to pick my favorite anime because my reasons go beyond the show itself. Let me explain, in my case dragon ball z is my favorite and i will tell you why. I could of easily picked something else like Gundam wing for example since it is probably the very first anime that I've ever watched. Non the less its in my top 5 simply for that reason. And i have to agree with you on rouruni kenshin (aka samurai x) its also one of my favs. But dragon ballz tops it all because of my friends. They all knew it or at least heard it. So that means we always had something to talk about, then they had the video games. This increased my friendships even more because even the outsiders were getting into dbz. And i was more than happy to explain it to them. This continued onto highschool and even college. I have made so many friends and colleagues through dbz, we have alot of "history". Unfortunately i cannot say that about any other anime in the world

It's easy for me to pick the worst Anime though, School days. That had the most screwed up ending in Anime history.

"School Days" was originally based on an H-game of the same name.

The game was intended as a deconstruction of several H-game tropes, in particular the fact that most such games allow you to romance - and even have sexual encounters with - the people competing for your affection before you make your decision as to which person will be your chosen partner. Because of this, unless the game in question has an option that allows for a plural relationship, you - the player - have basically just used most, if not all, of the cast.

In the "School Days" game, however, the two top female contenders for your affection are later revealed to be mentally unstable. As a consequence, you sleeping around before making a decision will generally end in someone being hurt or even killed as one of the girls snaps once she realizes what just happened to her. I've not played it, but it's my understanding that these endings tend to be pretty horrific.

The controversy over these violent, shocking endings made the game such a hot topic that someone decided to capitalize on everything and make an anime of it. Once the decision was made, however, the powers-that-be chose to ramp up the shock factor, resulting in the ending you got. This ending was so shocking, in fact, that the final episode never aired on Japanese television: a real-life violent murder had just taken place, and so the network chose to preempt the broadcast. If memory serves, the network hastily assembled footage of various landscapes as well as a high-end luxury boat, thus creating the "Nice Boat" meme to refer to censorship.

So the original ending was even more screwed up than it was? I shouldn't have listed it as "the worst anime" since the Anime wasn't all that bad but, It's definitely one of "The most unpredictable and shocking Anime". If I had known what it contained before hand I never would have watched it with my wife. Or probably at all.

It's advertised as a good SOL/Romantic comedy but, contains no humor and only really the beginning of the Anime fits the SOL/Romance theme. The rest of it is the main character slowly becoming a sex addict who can't be stopped and never will dedicate himself to one woman.

But, my wife and I were looking for something new to watch and we both enjoy the Romance/Slice of life genre. So, we saw School Days on Crunchyroll and decided to watch it. It starts off like any other romance/slice of life anime but then it starts to get more and more twisted. It hooks you because you want to find out what punishment he's going to get for sleeping with almost every single girl in school and... to be honest his punishment and who was going to punish him was kind of expected by me personally. My wife didn't guess until it was too late.

What I didn't expect was what happened after. Both women involved were kind of psychotic and you could get that vibe throughout the whole anime but, just thinking about it now gives me nightmares... that was the most sick and disgusting thing I have ever seen in Anime history.

Yeah, just the plot and art style for It's time made Rourouni Kenshin fantasic and an iconic gem. I also like how they told the story of EVERYTHING that they could on Kenshin. They told us the story of everything that happened from when Kenshin was born pretty much to when he died. Very rarely do you get that in an anime. I really hope someday they do an Anime revolving around his son and his life. But, then again, It's made pretty obvious what kind of life his son lead since, he disagreed with and hated his father so much for his previous actions.

But, nontheless it would have been nice to know if he ever forgave his father and what kind of a life he lead as a swordsman and how different he grew up than Kenshin. They kind of skipped over a majority of his childhood.

I watched a bit of Dragonball and Dragonball Z when I was a kid. Dragonball Z was much more boring to me, my wife and I both kind of agree that they kind of prolonged the fights a bit too long (Many lasted 2-3 episodes +) and spent 10-15 minutes just charging up and flexing their muscles. But, yeah Dragonball was a pretty good anime all things considered. And DBZ was alright if you liked the whole macho scene and didn't mind them prolonging fights.

That was one complaint I had about Bleach too on top of all of the filler episodes that served almost no purpose to the main plot. To me, Bleach ended at Aizen's Defeat. I heard they're making more Bleach episodes to catch up with the Manga but, I don't know if I'd watch or not due to that reason. I probably will watch but, unless it's really, really, good I won't ever go back to it.

Yes i do agree with you on dragon ball. It has a much better story line than dbz, and its more well written over all. The fights on dbz were extremely too long (goku vs frieza was over 20 ep). I love bleach as well but i dont like it more than yuyu hakusho. And luckily for me i skipped all the fillers on bleach. I didnt watch any of them. I usually skip filler episodes. Naruto is infamous for their filler episodes as well.

Thing is, in Japan it's common for anime to be made while the source material they're adapting is still ongoing. This can lead to a *lot* of issues once the anime catches up to the source material, as the anime team is forced to compensate.

In some instances, we get shows where the anime team creates their own ending. In some cases, it works; for example, Trigun's anime was as well received as the original manga. In other instances, however, it doesn't; for example, the powers-that-be behind the .Hack franchise have reportedly disowned the .Hack//Legend anime because of how bad that turned out.

Then we get shows that decide to do filler until the source catches back up. This is where shows like Kenshin, Bleach, DBZ, and Naruto get their filler from. With Kenshin, this led to the infamous "Renegade Christian" arc that caused the entire show to get cancelled due to the public backlash.
