But if that is what he chooses to do then who are we to decide whether it is godly or not. If we don't agree or if we think that an act is ungodly then we should gently lead that person to the Lord instead of judging them.
But, many people do not know what the BIble says on the matter.

I am not judging him, I am just sharing what I know the Bible says.

Well that is why the people that do know the bible should share it in a kind way. Some people honestly don't know the bible very well, that is why it's important to lead them gently.

You search the scripture to see if things are so and you ask God and his word clearly says that divination is an abomination and evil.

Diviniation uses crystals prayerfully. Its also called scrying. Unclean spirits can inhabit objects, though they prefer a human body.
We are to pray to Him directly, not to the stones.

If you have any qualms about a particular practice, don't do it. Sometimes we are looking for the boundaries of right and wrong, good and bad, so that we might play along them. We want to get as close to sin as possible without actually crossing into it. But if your focus is on Christ, if loving and following him is the fundamental aim of your life, which it should be if you are a disciple of Christ, then you're going to be occupied with getting close to him rather than close to sin. Your interest won't be in finding the outer limits of right and wrong, but in devoting more and more of yourself to being like your Saviour. As you do so, it becomes very clear what you ought and ought not to do.

Selah.

Greetings;
Some people condemn the use of crystals regardless that the Bible mentions crystals and stones two hundred times; the Bible does condemn occult, thus if one uses them as an agent of occult then that is sinful. People pray using the rosary made o various media including minerals and crystals and they don't feel guilty or sinful about it; daily people take medication made of crystal and thank God for making them well; people use cosmetics made of crystals and feel good about their body cleanliness; breakfast cereals have crystals; our bodies fused with minerals; our Lord Jesus spit on crystal loaded soil to cure the blind man with mud.

There are over two hundred references in the bible that cite to crystals and stones.Portions of God's glorious heavenly city, the New Jerusalem, will be constructed from crystal. It's in the Bible, Revelation 21:11, & 18-20 NIV. "It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like jasper, clear as crystal. The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. "

This is basically a New Age practice. Avoid it. What begins as something neutral-seeming can draw one into practices that have nothing to do with the Living God, and His Son.

As a general standard, if you have to ask if anything is "compatible with Christianity" (like yoga, Tai Chi, healing with crystals, sweat lodges, vision quests, zazen, spirit animals, Buddhism, or trying to determine if your food "vibrates"), it's not.

Also, Rosaries can be made of stone, clay, wood, plastic, knotted yarn, and bungee cords. It's not about the material used, but about coming near to Christ through Mary. You can even pray the Rosary using your fingers. Makes no difference.

I know this post is a bit old (and people want it to die), but I felt like I needed to add a response.
So here’s the thing: they’re rocks. Rocks have no real spiritual/healing powers. Sure, they can be used in negative ways, but they’re still just rocks. If you like to collect crystal specimens because they’re neat (like I do), do it! There’s no reason to genuinely worry over some spooky occultist putting “bad juju” on them or anything like that. Demons are real, and can definitely hang out around an item or place. The important thing to remember, though, is the fact that God is so much bigger and so much more powerful than the boogeyman! If you’re really worried about it, you can pray over that crystal, too. Ask God to remove anything from over the crystal that isn’t of Him, and you’re good to go!
Now, as previously mentioned, crystals can be used negatively. So, really just don’t use them that way. If you’re using them purely as decoration, you’re totally fine. My bookshelves are loaded with them. If you’re setting them up at a prayer altar purely for some ambiance or as visual reminders of what you want to pray for/God’s promises, that’s totally fine too! Just remember that the crystals have nothing to do with whether your prayers will be heard or anything else like that. They’re just a pretty and super interesting part of God’s creation. So As long as they’re just pretty things to look at and not something you’re putting your faith into, I’m absolutely certain that God won’t mind your admiration of His work.
Please don’t let others frighten you into thinking that rocks themselves are bad. They’re rocks. It’s what you do with the rock that matters

Hello fellow Christians:

I have a beautiful crystal collection that I used to be obsessed with when I was younger. Recently, I stumbled upon these once again. It reminded me of my childhood, and these specimens are very fit to display. I have been using them at my little prayer alter with my statue of Christ and picture of the Divine Mercy. I use them symbolically for prayer intentions. I would arrange them, light a candle, and pray to God for those intentions. For example: Today, I arranged a sequence of rose quartz for love and peace, amethyst for calmness, and clear quartz for clear and pure thoughts, all of which I use symbolically. I then lit my candle and prayed for these intentions for the day ahead.

Recently in my random searching, I have stumbled upon crystal healing. Some use crystal healing as a way to dispel negative energy. "Crystal healers" use these crystals believing that they have a specific energy contained in them when they were formed specifically for peace, love, comfort, energy, etc. I am fully aware that superstition and "crystal healing" is a sin. It worries me that what I do is similar, but I don't use or summon the occult for this. I use the crystals symbolically to remind me of my intentions, and I pray to God for the healing powers instead of relying on a "secret power" from the crystal. I use the crystals to give them some light because they are very beautiful and to thank God for his creation.

Using crystals symbolically for prayer: Is this practice ok?
I do feel as if it is on the ok side because I am using these crystals symbolically to remind me of these intentions and praying to God for the intentions on my little religious altar. Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you all.

I say it is not ok to use crystals along side Jesus. Jesus is the healer, and people need to be directed toward him if a healing occurs. If they see you using crystals they may attribute the healing power to the crystal not Jesus.

No do not use them.
We need nothing to come before God but ourselves. :prayer:

Apart from what others have written about the new age , deceiving spirits involved in such practice it is not good to become reliant on creating an "atmosphere" before prayer or your focus will be on that rather than God.
Crystals as pretty things , OK but to assign any sort of power to them is just wrong as well as dangerous.

I don't see anything really wrong with it, even if its unusual. Prayer is such a personal thing.

I actually know a therapist who is an Episcopalian, and she has a bowl full of these stones in her office with different words like "Hope" and "Love" on them. It's about having something tactile to hold and look at, which can be important for some people dealing with traumatic experiences in processing emotions.

If you like that sort of thing you might want to get an olive wood holding cross and hold it when you pray, or as a kind of silent prayer.
