The OT passover lamb is a shadow of the NT LAMB OF GOD, JESUS.

COLLOSSIANS 2;16.
The OT Sabbath is a shadow of the NT Sabbath (Jesus).....In the OT, the saints enjoyed physical rest on saturday......in the NT, we enjoy a Spiritual rest in Christ (rest from sin, shame, guilt, dread of death, etc).

OT circumcision cuts off the flesh (foreskin).
NT Circumcision cuts the sin from our hearts (Spiritual circumcision).

OT Conquest of the Promised Land (Kingdom of God), we drive the wicked men out of the Kingdom.
NT Conquest of the Kingdom,,,,"The Kingdom is within you".......We cast evil spirits out of ourselves......."In Jesus' Name, I cast the evil spirit of lying, staeling, pride, lust, etc out of me"........demonbuster.com.....

David = Christ.
David's mighty men = the NT saints doing Spiritual warfare (casting out demons, healing the sick, etc).......Luke 9;1.....Jesus has given every disciple AUTHORITY (power) over all demons and disease. .........theelijahchallenge.org.........

Adam and Eve are foreshadows of Jesus and the Church (Bride)......Eve (Church) was decieved by satan's lies, but Adam was not decieved......the NT says that........Jesus is the second (or last) Adam.........
All good women are symbolic of the Church.......all good men are symbolic of Christ.........therefore, the men (Christ) teach, but the women (Church) are silent ............the woman wears the Covering (long beautiful hair), but the man does NOT wear the Covering,,,,,,because Christ needs no Covering (He never sinned),,,,but the Church needs a Covering for her ugly sins........Sarah called Abraham "lord".........Ruth laid down at Boaz's feet (submission to her husband)........

all bad women are symbolic of the (false) Church......Jezebel, the Rev17 harlot of babylon, is satan's bride, the apostate Church in the Trib.........
All bad men are symbolic of the antichrist.......King Saul, Judas Iscariot, .......

The bible is filled with amazing supernatural symbolism.

OT Babylon was the physical world-wide (the known world) kingdom , famous for destroying Israel and Temple.
NT Babylon is the spiritual world-wide kingdom, who will try to murder Christ, saints, Jews, Israel, Bible, in the endtimes.

OT Israel nation is the foreshadow of the NT Church.
OT saint = foreshadow of NT saint.

OT (physical) unclean food (pork) = foreshadow of NT (spiritual) unclean food (heresies, false religions, psychology, foolishness, inappropriate content, etc).

OT priest would offer the finest wheat flour drenched (baptized) in olive oil on the altar = foreshadow of Christ (the Bread from Heaven), Spirit-baptized, offered upon the Cross.

All the details of the OT Temple = foreshadow of NT Spiritual doctrines (Cross, sanctification washing, prayer, Spiritual nutrition(Showbread), Light (Mennorah), Holiest Place..........

Praise Christ!

Paul had a demon (thorn in the flesh, "messenger of satan", evil spirit of infirmity), which caused a problem with his eyes, I think.

After his calling in Acts 9 Paul spent three years in the Arabian desert under the Spiritual tutelage of Jesus, Himself. The region that Paul was in was known for its incredible occurrence of eye diseases.

the physical elevation = the Spiritual elevation.

Sinners and demons are in the Sea (Peter was a fisherman of sinners, and he brings the sinners onto the Land to be saints).

The Land is the Promised Land (Kingdom of God).
The saints live in the Promised Land.
When you have a mountain-top experience with God, its on a mountain.....Mt Carmel, Moriah, Sinai, Zion, Sermon on the Mount, Transfiguration,,,,,Eden was on a mountain,,,,the rivers flowed down and out of Eden,,,,,,the New Jerusalem is a pyramid (mountain).........Hell is under our feet (in the center of the earth..........Heaven is above us.

OT Jerusalem (City of God) is the foreshadow of the NT New Jerusalem (Christ and Church married together).

The "City" is primarily the people (not the streets and buildings),,,,,,,because God loves relationships, fellowship, marriage love, children, neighbors, friends, communion, intercourse, intimacy,

The Bible starts and ends with a perfect sinless marriage.......adam and eve,,,,,Jesus and Church........

The first 2 chapters of the bible are identical with the last 2 chapters of the Bible,,,,,,the last 2 Chapters are infinitely more Glorious than the foreshadow.

The Bible is all about marriage love,,,,,the Bridegroom and Bride.

I highly recommend FRANK VIOLA'S "GOD'S ETERNAL PURPOSE (free audio, about 1 hour).

NT Conquest of the Kingdom,,,,"The Kingdom is within you"
this is not true!

i hear this said a lot and it still amazes me that people say this not knowing the context in which Jesus said it.

who did Jesus say that to?

verse 20, (luke 17), clearly says that He was speaking to the pharisees!

so do you believe that the kingdom of God was in people He called hypocrites?

Or he was left with continuing eye problems after the incident on the road to Damascus.

So Ananias left and entered the house. Then he placed his hands on him and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road you were traveling, has sent me so that you can regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

At once something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized.

Many Israelites thought that the Messiah would overthrow the Roman army, and make Israel victorious+rich, like under David+Solomon,,,,,,,but Jesus offered a Spiritual Kingdom, where-in we could repent and overcome the demons within us.

In the NT, we fight Spiritual enemies (evil spirits),,,,,,not physical enemies(Philistines, sinners, Roman army).

Today, the NT Promised Land is a Spiritual Land,,,,,,The King and the Kingdom is within the saints. We are the Temple, the City of God, the New Jerusalem, the NT Promised Land........God has given to me every spot of Spiritual Land that I put the sole of my foot upon, but I must advance against the enemy (demons+diseases).

We study the OT to understand the NT much better......For example, I say....."In Jesus' Name, I put my feet on the necks of the demons and I cut off their heads with the Sword of the Lord"..........This is how we drive the wicked (spirits) out of the (spiritual) Land.
Praise Christ!

Its interesting that Paul had poor PHYSICAL eye-sight,,,,,,while he had wonderful SPIRITUAL eye-sight.......God knows how to keep us humble.

That "you" is very widely encompassing. All the Pharisees were not hypocrites (Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus, for instance).

no need to parse!

here's the deal on what Jesus was saying, (this is a repost of mine)

**REPOST**

most have misunderstood luke 17:21 by reading it out of context!

let's see what the verse really says!

Luke 17:20-21(NKJV)
20
Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation;
21nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

first, we notice that Jesus is answering the pharisees (verse 20). so, for those who believe that the kingdom of God is "within you", would have to believe that Jesus was saying, that the people He called hypocrites, had the kingdom of God within them!

that simply wouldn't make sense!

the word "within" in the verse is "entos" in the greek (strong's G1787) which means "inside" or "within".

"entos" comes from the root "en" (strong's G1722), which can have the meaning "among".

Jesus is part of the kingdom of God, just like a rose is part of the plant kingdom. so, Jesus was telling the pharisees that the "kingdom of God" was standing there "within" their midst or standing there "among" them!

notice the next verse:

Luke 17:22(NKJV)
22
Then He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.

notice He references Himself in verse 22, He was standing right there for them to see!

now notice, the kindom doesn't enter us, we are to enter into it! (see matt 19:34, mark 10:15, 23-25)

we are to inherit the kingdom, matt 25:34.

Jesus is part of the kingdom of God,

Jesus is the King,,,,,,,and He owns the Kingdom.........Jesus the King (the Spirit of Jesus) lives in my heart,,,,,within me.

"The Kingdom is within you"........."you" = all mankind........Today, the Kingdom includes both good citizens and the crooks....the crooks are subject to the Great King.........but soon, a separation will come.

The Kingdom is within the tares and the wheat.....the tares follow satan......the wheat follow Jesus,,,,,...at the end of the age, the tares will be burned in the lake of fire,,,,,,,the wheat (saints) will be gathered unto God, Heaven, Marriage,
Praise Christ!

NT use of the OT varies. Among these, there are examples of typology or, notably in apocalyptic genre, intended analogies or symbolic relationships. The NT also includes certain sweeping statements of relationships such as Jesus claiming to fulfill the law and the prophets or the book of Hebrews claiming the law is a shadow of the reality, which is Christ.

And such examples and sweeping statements (even if contextually delimited) encourage looking more widely. However, zeal in the task has led some to making claims that lack clarity or Scriptural controls. I think what I have cited above from your OP includes some examples of typology or symbolism that go beyond what can reasonably be demonstrated from the Bible. Some (not all) of your examples which I do not here cite I either find agreement with or think have some degree of Scriptural support.

Note also that in making claims as to OT/NT typological or symbolic relationships, I assume you are not implying you write here under Holy Spirit inspiration on a par with what Jesus' apostles and certain trusted members of their respective entourages had (e.g., John Mark and Luke) in writing Scripture. Rather, you feel bound not to go beyond what is written (i.e., the accepted canon of Scripture--or if you are RC, accepted church tradition) and if you speculate, you intend to make clear that you are speculating--or at least I encourage you to do so.

"The Holy Spirit is my Teacher".

Jesus did NOT explain the parables to the unrepentant crowds, but He explained EVERYTHING to His disciples PRIVATELY.........Anyone in the crowd could have been a disciple, if they wanted to,,,,,,,,,,if you want Jesus to explain things to you today, you must be a disciple (not part of the unrepentant crowd).

About Jan 1, 2009, I asked Jesus to "Please open my Spiritual Vision , so I can see the Signs from God like Dean Coombs can".........and He did that for me......since then, I have seen many astounding Signs in current events.......and I understand Jesus+Bible much better now.........

bible-codes.org
christian-forum.net

no visions or dreams,,,,,,,,,no audible voice,,,,,,,no Voice in my Spirit,,,,,,,but He opens my understanding in my thots,,,,,,,,He guides my thots........I can see the Bible symbolism in the Signs and Bible text.........Praise Christ!

Ask Jesus to open your Spiritual eyes and ears today!

you are talking "apples" and "oranges"!

the tares may be among the wheat as pertaining to the church, but what you have written here, (especially the blue highlighted), is simply not what the scriptures say!

Luke 18:17(NKJV)
17Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” (or should it read, "it will by no means enter you" hmmm!)

read that verse over and over until you can see it!

in the Song of Solomon,,,,,,"Jesus (Bridegroom, Solomon) is the fairest of ten thousand"........(obviously, Jesus is the fairest of ALL..........10 = ALL.

The tithe is the "tenth"........10%........in the OT, the Israelites gave 10%,,,,,,,which was the foreshadow of ......in the NT, the saints give ALL we have,,,ALL we are........

The OT shadow is always infinitely smaller and less effective than the NT substance.

Jesus said that the "least NT saint is greater than the greatest OT Prophet (John the Baptist)."..........

I offer you a beautiful home free,,,,,,or you can have its shadow,,,,,,you cant have both........which do you choose?......the home or its shadow?

Obviously, we choose the Home........the Home is infinitely greater than its shadow.
Praise Christ! We are NT saints! We are the Perfect Bride for the Perfect Bridegroom!
God is able to transform us crooks into a beautiful perfect Bride for Him.

In the first marriage, the 2 flesh become 1 flesh......physical intimacy.
In the last marriage, the 2 spirits become 1 Spirit......Spiritual intimacy.

Adam KNEW Eve.......physical intimacy.
Jesus KNOWS His 5 wise virgins,,,,,,and does NOT KNOW the 5 foolish virgins.......Spiritual intimacy.
If you are Spiritually intimate with Christ today,,,you are saved from the second death! Praise Christ for His Intimacy!

The Bible is all about marriage love,,,,,,,,Bridegroom and Bride.
The Bible starts and ends with a beautiful sinless marriage.
