I was not aware that in Hispanic culture there is an event that is highly celebrated for when children would reach their 15th birthday. (I cannot remember what it was called.)
So then, as I am pulling into the driveway coming back from work I notice a group of kids hanging out on the side of the road in front of Mama Knight's yard, with a cop car there, too, though with the flashing lights thankfully off. I just shrug and go inside the house, but after a while, I asked Mama Knight if she knew them or something, so she goes out to ask if everything is okay with the kids, and it turns out they were just a group of Hispanic children going door to door trying to raise money for one of their sister's big 15th birthday ceremonial event thingy. ... But the reason they were having to talk to that cop was because the HOA president or whatever his his high position is across the street, this old guy named Charles, called the cops on the kids for "soliciting". Geez, dude, they were just kids, and they certainly weren't doing anything worthy of police intervention. ..... I've got news for the guy; this may be an HOA neighborhood, but that doesn't mean it belongs to him.
Charles is also the reason my mother recently had to spend thousands of dollars to have her roof re-shingled and her house painted a different color. I don't know about any of you, but I think the Home Owners' Association is utterly stupid. Because you are literally paying dues each month to an organization for them to tell you what you can and can't do with your house ... your house that you own. Seriously, what is the point?
Anyways, Mama Knight and I just bought some candy from the Hispanic kids to help them in their goal and gave the cute little sister who was about to turn 15 our well-wishes. It was the least we could do to help them feel better after some old goat goes and sics the cops on them for no good reason.
