Satan

CCC #395 The power of Satan is, nonetheless, not infinite. He is only a creature, powerful from the fact that he is pure spirit, but still a creature. He cannot prevent the building up of God's reign. Although Satan may act in the world out of hatred for God and his kingdom in Christ Jesus, and although his action may cause grave injuries - of a spiritual nature and, indirectly, even of a physical nature- to each man and to society, the action is permitted by divine providence which with strength and gentleness guides human and cosmic history. It is a great mystery that providence should permit diabolical activity, but "we know that in everything God works for good with those who love him."

From my understanding, which may be wrong, Satan's in both. Since hell is, for all intents and purposes, a spiritual realm, Satan can influence our physical world through us, much like any spiritual being can.

Here are some bible verses regarding this topic:

1 Timothy 3:6
6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil.

John 16:11
11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.

These passages show that he's been judged and condemned.

As far as where he is now--in Revelation 20, it speaks of Satan being "released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations..." So, to me that sounds like something that's to come, hasn't happened yet. I would say that he's still roaming the earth and trying to stop Christians from worshiping God.

Revelation 20
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

We don't know how much time satan has been given by Christ [the "two thousand years is a bibllical "long time" NOT meant to be a real number.

Abortion
Gay "rights"
and gay "rites" "Civil unions" to be accepted as "marriage" as a vaild alternative.

are but a few signs od Satans VERY ACTIVE presence in our midst.

IMO the HUGE and growing number of Protestant faiths [TRUTH is after all "one." might also be a sign.]

New Age, agnostics and atheist are gaining a public forum; yet another sign.


THERE CAN BE NO DOUBTS about his reality and his effectiveness.

So you mean that being gay means being satanic? Is this some kind of gender discrimination? I know that gays and lesbians are also good people. I really can't tell from my experience but I think they are also treated as equally loved as men and women by God.

God's position and that of the CC is to: "Love the sinner and HATE the sin"

If you are suggesting that ACTIVE homosexual and lesbians "are loved by God" you are ONLY partially correct.

If unrepemyed and if there sins are not Confessed [through the ONLY Sacrament of Known forgiveness] they WILL still end up in hell.

Noone can practice these deviant forms and lifestyles and gain heaven.

And that friend is biblical,

Satan does roam the earth.

Rev 12:7 tells us there is a battle in heaven between devils and angels...

We know this is still future because it says the devil was kicked out to the people below.... Satan fell from heaven before Adam and eve so this shows the earth clearly with people on it....


It also tells us that Satan knows his time is short... How short?
Well verse 6 tells us the Israelis all flee for 1260 days - the second half of the Tribulation.

The tribulation begins with the Antichrist kingdom rider on white horse after all that's what kingdom revelation is about....

You can see this rev 6:2 happen at Daniel 9:27 the roman prince of the people who destroyed Jerusalem in 70ad... At the middle of that 7 yrs he breaks the treaty and marches to Jerusalem and that's when the Jews flee for the last half (Rev 12:6 and 12:14 for 1260 days....


If you look at matt 24:15-21 you see the temple has been taken and the Jews are to flee
mark 13:14-19 same event
Luke 21:20-24 same event


You have heard of the one world new world order haven't you?

You understand that's one and the same as the one world Antichrist kingdom don't you?


The new age is all about Satan worship and that's what's coming.... Oh and when you hear your pope talk of world peace - I bet it comes with a 7 year agreement!

At the moment, Satan is not in hell. Rather, Satan roams the earth, seeking people to tempt into sin and thus separate from God. First Peter 5:8 states, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” In John 14:30, Jesus called Satan the “prince of this world,” and the apostle Paul referred to him as the “ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient” (Ephesians 2:2). Satan does not live in hell; he lives and works on the earth and in the heavens circling it.

Satan is the “father of lies,” and he influences and rules the world right now. Satan desires worship (Matthew 4:9), and he uses deceit and distractions to draw man’s focus to himself. The world worships Satan in one way or another, except for those who are of the Kingdom of God and are therefore called out of the devil’s deceptions. If a person is not a child of God, he is by default a child of Satan (see John 8:44; Acts 13:10). First John 3:10 tells us how to distinguish the two: “This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.” James 4:4 explains that anyone who is a friend of the world is an enemy of God. The children of God must come out of the world and be separate (2 Corinthians 6:17).

This is important to know, because soon Jesus will return to earth and collect what belongs to Him. He will defeat the followers of Satan and claim His elect for Himself. Ultimately, Satan will be thrown into the lake of fire and “tormented day and night forever and ever” (Revelation 20:10). Afterward, Jesus will judge unbelievers according to what they have done during their lives. Anyone whose name is not found written in the Book of Life is thrown into the lake of fire where Satan and his minions will be by that time (Revelation 20:13, 15). Hell and death are also thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:14), so, technically speaking, at no time does Satan reside in hell. But he will be confined permanently in a very hot place that could be called a “hellish” location, to be tormented eternally.

The LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it."
