Apparently his X-wife reported such. But since we have no testimony from fellow church goers or even a Baptism certificate or picture I remain a skeptic. :)

We don't even know if the guy owns a Bible.

From what I read, his ex wife stated he felt as long as he was saved, he could basically do anything he wanted.

His criminal record and the PP shooting, would certainly not contradict this claim.

That was 23 years ago . Didn't you claimed to be a Christian once? ;)

That's a simple one to answer: It is because when either Israel or one of the Middle East Islamic faith states get into trouble with an oppressor they start to sing their favourite hymn...

Onward Christian Soldiers.

Heh yeah. I thought for sure some Libs here would at least agree with the military age men deal fighting for their own country. But keeping them in the US would mean more votes when their path to citizenship is fast tracked.

So what. When you can reconcile doing anything because you are saved at one point of your life, why would that just go away?

Yes, I was a Christian once and my moral compass has not changed since moving away from Christianity.

Do you offer alleged Muslims similar skepticism after a terrorist attack? Would you engage in such devil's advocacy had his name been Mohamed?

Even if he wasn't a True Christian (TM), he was operating under the ideology of abortion being wrong, which is something heavily pushed, but not strictly monitored, by Christians. Not all Christians but many of them, I've come to realize. The GOP probably considers itself Christian as well, even though I doubt even half truly are. True Christians (TM) nationwide have not denounced them, have they?

In my mind, when it comes to such violent acts perpetuated as a result of this mindset, silence is promotion. So I consider him Christian since no one else is really giving me a good reason not to.

Not to mention, people are so quick to paint all Muslims as just "terrorists waiting to happen", but when I apply that same brush to Christians suddenly they don't like that kind of treatment. I'm merely pointing out the double standard, really.

Also, maybe he wasn't a Christian. How many non-Christians, who lack a Christian upbringing, are going to believe you? Especially with how influential the GOP is? Are you starting to see the problem yet?

Or we are just waiting for all the facts.

What's wrong with peacefully opposing premeditated termination of life which cannot provide their own defense?

Like I told you when people go crazy they start talking religious nonsense even if they never went to church. I knew of a woman who did and never went to church. Notice his ex-wife said something about him talking about the end of time just like the woman I knew except she was running down the street naked.

I think there's some miscommunication, and it's probably my fault. In the OT days, God used actual Prophets to make his will known. Since we now have Jesus as our Prophet, there are no longer any more. Public revalation is finished.

Those who receive private revalations/visions in the modern era cannot claim what they receive is binding on anyone other than themselves. There are actually deep spiritual writings that say it's best to err on the side of caution and not listen to a supposed vision, lest it be a demon tempting you.

I can but agree that to err on the side of caution sounds like a wise plan. I hope the rest of those who believe in divine communication share this sentiment.

But being identified as a Christian by family members, busting into planned parenthood and mumbling something about the theo-cons' beloved doctored PP videos? Yeah, let's remain skeptical about his motivations *eyeroll*

If he lives in a Muslim Country then it happens often. Or they are thrown off the top of buildings.

That's what makes this thread interesting. Seems folks are worried what Christians may do but defend the religion of stoning homosexuals, adulterers and oppress women.

It's why I keep saying it is self deatructive behavior. A desire for Dhimmitude.
You forgot hanging. Iran is known for that also.

Remember Iran's President Ahmadinejad's appearance at Columbia years ago? He was asked about Iran's treatment of homosexuals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xou92apNN4o
This is the short clip of his answer.

He wasn't lying . They don't have open homosexuality in Iran. That's because Iran executed homosexuals.

Hea on over to the eschatology sub. That's pretty standard behavior over there. Or aren't they "real" Christians either?

I will give you my opinion in regards to those who adhere to radical religious beliefs and justify harming others because of the same.

It isn't so much the religion that is the main issue (in other words, religions don't make people crazy), but the psychological makeup of the individual, that then seeks radical interpretations of religion, to provide self justification for their actions.

People that perform these acts, will search for any justification to act them out. If a religion is not available, they will find some other justification.

To use an analogy; I don't believe guns kill people, screwed up people with guns kill people. Same applies to religion. Religions don't kill people, screwed up people that grasp onto a radical interpretation, kill people.

Can't have what you get rid of. He was not lying. But they do. It's just not public. Once it becomes known the family either conducts an honor killing or turns them over to the judges.

Didn't you know, you are not allowed to have an opinion.

Come on now. She has an opinion and we are reading it. People can agree or disagree. Isn't this Cjristian site so great with free speech?

I don't know. What did Caesar do that proves we're a Christian nation?

Heh. You said pagan governments were republics. Caesar was a pagan and he destroyed the republic.

Pagans did not form the US republic. Or is there some revisionist history you have that the founders were bawdy pagans and played Christian.
