Sadly, I can believe it.

Remember that infamous clip from the show "Wife Swap" when the Evangelical lady freaked out over the other house that had statues of gargoyles, and she was screaming at the cameras something like, "Be gone demon people in Jesus name I pray"? I think even "holy water" got thrown around a little. Point is, that raving lunatic of a woman is the image that far too many Americans have of Christians. That twisted brand of Christianity is what these people are responding to.

sadly I also believe it, but pointing out that Christians can be hypocrites as a reason for rejecting the faith is like rejecting going to the gym because people are out of shape.

You know ArmyMatt you raise a good point, no it not a reason to deny Christ and his Church. Ironicly I was thinking last night falling asleep that us Orthodox can be just as bad as everybody else, i mean we have our corrupt heirarchs at times, many at church can come across as nominal just like any other faith, and to be blunt many of us Orthodox can be prideful and arrogant to others because we have the true faith. Then I started thinking more but those are not reasons to deny Orthodoxy or Christianity because of hypocrits and jerks, but that we should deny it if it wasn't the right or correct faith, and then it dawned on me we follow Christ and his Church because it true, not because of it followers are nice or not, don't get me we wrong we all can do better at times. Anyways while I see the point how mean spirited Christians can be in this Salon.com, that in it self doesn't prove Christianity false, and sure doesn't prove Satinism true. Okay I gave some little credit to a Salon.com article, this Cold i'm getting over did a number on me lol!

What does the article say? Can't get passed the first couple paragraphs with all the ads popping up. Only thing I got out of it is to stay away from high school football games since it's a hotbed of ecumenism and syncretism and ineffectual joint prayers.
