• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could possibly help me shed some light on something. There are days where sometimes I all of a sudden feel sadness. I exercise most days and that makes me feel great. But after about 3 or 4 hours I am back in a state of sadness. Now don't get me wrong, I do have good days, I am just trying to figure out what might be causing this.

There are a number of things that could be causing this, be they situational, internal, medical, etc. It makes sense that you feel great when you exercise as this releases endorphins. After awhile they wear off, leaving you feeling down again.
It's normal to feel sad sometimes, but it becomes a problem whenever it sticks around over an extended period of time.

It might be a good idea for you to evaluate what's been going on in your life. How long have you felt this way? Is there something going on that could be causing these feelings? Those are rhetorical - you don' t have to answer them here. But finding the root of the problem is step one :)

Hello, everyone
I agree. using mood tracking chart or helpful other tools. It can create a good ideas for you I feel like a complete outsider to humanity in other ways, too. I've never done any recreational drugs, and I've never cared to go to wild parties that I'm apparently weird for not wanting to go to. I don't like being drunk, can't stand looking at other drunk people, and wonder what the hell people find so attractive about it---------
