Agreed. Using those 5-bladed wonders is like shaving with a feather, but they don't get nearly close enough for my taste.
I shave in every direction with them to get closer. I go over my face and head the final time with a fresh blade just to make sure its smooth.... unfortunately a short time later........ its stubble again.
Yeah I've seen that. Although I've talked to friend that also shave their head and they have said its not all that special and not worth the added cost just to use it. Normally Id make up my own mind on such things, but this person and I have the same opinions on the different razors that we have tried so I trust their opinion without having to try it. If he didn't agree with me that the Mach 3 is still the best, then Id probably have to give it a chance.
I shave with a double edge (single blade), and I haven't looked back.
You only really need 1 blade.
I honestly wouldnt trust myself with a straight razor.... I cut up my head bad enough as it is. There has been once or twice that I took huge chunks out..... it grows back of course, but not before bleeding like something out of a horror movie. When I can smell blood in the air.... I know I butchered my scalp.
WHY do you have so many razors? You can send me the wahl.
Well, it wasn't planned. Its not like I bought them all at the same time.
I buy "the next big thing" razor because, while they ARE expensive......... its a valid expense. While some people spend X amount of money on hair styling products and hair cuts etc. I just try out a different razor/shaving cream and still come out ahead even if I go high end razor and shave cream.
When I try out the new razor I fully intend for it to be my only........ but the new ones leave something to be desired.
For example, my mach 3. Great shave, great blade life...... but no trimmer blade. (for under the nose etc.) The phantom fusion, has the trimmer blade, but the blade life is terrible and the shave is.... good, but not great. The Shick hydro gives..... a better shave than the phantom, but not as good as the mach 3, but the blades are cheaper.
The wahl clippers are for nothing more than a time saver. If I go too long without a shave.... either face or head..... it will take FOREVER to get it back down to skin because the razors will get clogged and have to be cleaned A LOT more. If instead I take the Wahl to the face and head first........ then it cuts out the extra hair and I can get a good shave done in about 30 mins. (Shaving it multiple times and directions)
The cool thing too is that the clippers gather up most of the hair it clips so its more or less a mess where it falls in the same place...... so a quick run of the dust buster and the mess on the floor is gone.
