• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I'm kind of addicted to sunbathing I have to admit.
Im usually tanning for about 35 minutes every other day at a tanning studio for about one or two months each spring and fall and just love spending time in the sun during the summer.

The thing is that living in Norway which is really depressing during the winter part of the year makes indoor tanning quite addictive.
The lack of daylight has driven me to this mishabit, I call it a mishabit because I know it increases the chances of developing skincancer by about 90 per cent which isn't worth it obviously.

Anyway sorry for my rant.
The thing is that I have gotten several new moles lately and some of them (at least this one in particular) has started to grow a bit different.
It's itchy sometimes, but its rather rare.
It has grown a bit higher or taller if you like and it is blurry where it starts and end towards the normal skin around.

Worth noticing is that it's still round and while it has a slight, slight black color in one of its corners it's like 95 per cent brown.
It's symmetrical btw.

Do I need to worry about this particular mould ?
I'm rather hesitant to call my GP as I don't find it to be very serious, but still I'm a bit concerned.
You know the thought, what if it's melanoma and I realise 6 months from now when it has developed to stage four...

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
I hope that I will work up the courage to make an appointment with my doctor soon.
The thing is that I'm kind of afraid that it is Melanoma and because of that fear I'm hesitant to go to the doctor.
You know like as long as I'm not diagnosed I'm healthy.
But then again it's better to call of my nerves by going even if it's nothing.

Thanks for taking the time everybody to read my post and hopefully answer it.

God bless and thanks in advance for any replies.

The only thing to do is have it looked at. If anyone says not to see the doc they are doing you a great dis-service. Go ahead and have it looked at then you will know one way or the other. You can't fool around with this stuff. PLEASE see a doctor! Who knows? They may say it is nothing.

Thanks for replying to my thread Zippy2 I appreciate you taking the time to answer me.

I've decided to postpone my doctors appointment until after Christmas as I'm kind of busy and I refuse having this concern in the holidays.

It's most likely nothing anyway, but to stay on the safe side I will go to my GP in january.

Thanks again for reply.
God bless you.

Hi aChildofMary, I'm with Zippy, I'd definitely have that looked at, and I'd do it ASAP!! If it turns out to be a melanoma, you will be very thankful that you did so immediately. Hopefully it's nothing, but the last thing you'd want to do is wait for a month if you have any suspicions about it at all.

Just my two cents anyway, and what I would do if I was you :)

Praying for you.

Yours and His,
David

Thanks again for answers and if it's not to much to ask please pray for me as I'm kind of afraid of this whole thing.

God bless you all.

Thanks for prayers everyone.
I went to the doctor today and she reassured me that they looked fine.

According to her they didn't even look suspicious.
The thing is that one of them do itch, but that has nothing to do with melanoma she said.

Well I went to the doc and now I have to believe her.
I'm not qualified to second guess a professional anyway.

Thanks again for prayers it has meant a lot to me:)
It turns out I'm perfectly healthy :D

You're so kind, I don't deserve this:)
I'm a lucky, lucky man.
God is so so good to me, I know others are far less fortunate than me in life so I should never forget to express my gratitude to him

Thanks again for prayers
