I'm curious to know what songs have captivated you this year and made it on your personal soundtrack for 2015. They can be songs that were released this year or simply ones you discovered for the first time since January. I'm going to just share a couple at a time.

I'm currently on a road trip heading back home from Thanksgiving festivities and blissing out listening to What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World by The Decemberists. It's an album I've yet to tire of despite listening to it on a virtual loop throughout the year. My first concert was when my dad took me to see them perform at the Hollywood Bowl on 07/07/07, and they've been embedded into my heart ever since. I'm sharing my favorite song from the album below.

I've been waiting for quite a while now for Megadeth's new album and they released some of their songs and I believe they're absolutely gonna kill this time. It's so much better than their previous one, Super Collider (which sucked), and now they're back to being thrash!

I am a little embarrassed, to admit, but I love Justin Bieber's new album. :D

Don't be embarrassed! Purpose has made me a Belieber again after four years of viewing his music as being like what the FBI uses when they are psychologically torturing people. Paris Goebel, the brilliant visionary and choreographer of the videos on his album, recruited many of the dancers from the studios where I used to take classes. I have several friends who are in his videos, and they all said Justin Bieber was surprisingly nice and a such a joy to work with in addition to being talented.

This is my favorite song from the album -

Ha, in 2011 I had liked Justin Bieber (following an episode of Glee covering his songs that won me over) and Mumford & Sons, and then had developed a fierce dislike for them because their music became cloying and annoying to me. They've both won me back as fans in 2015.

The band Brand New, as a whole. I'd heard a few of their songs in the past but I actually sat down and listened to most of their albums for the first time a few months ago. They're one of my favorites now.

Thank you for this thread. Ever since I've had kids, I feel that I fell off the "new and cool" music field, as I find myself listening to songs that I remember when I was growing up :)

I'm replacing the video I had posted here before with this one that has the whole song:

This video is nice but I loved the one b4 of the dance class. Were you in that? One of the girls looked like you. Is it just my imagination or did 1 of the men in the dance video have on heels? Lol.

The album I've lost count of the number of times I've listened to it since it was released on September 4th is Under the Red Cloud by Amorphis. It's my personal pick for Album of the Year.

Here's the title track:
