:argh:I am so messed up with my bills. Used to get my check fourth Wednesday of the month. Perfect cause electric comes in so I could pay because most of my bills are at the end of the month
Now I get paid the third day of the month. Doesn't sound like a big deal cause I could guesstimate. Not so!, I feel all backwards or something. Also unexpected medical bills had to pay. This next month will b bare bones for me but I have to get this under control. Thanks guys, just venting!!!!

Yes, I KNOW just how awkward that can become

I pay my bills on the 28th of the month, but my money comes into my account
weekly, anytime after, Saturday Evening thru Mid-morning Mondays
to take the weight off of the 28th, I arranged a Standing Order for the 15th
Which always left me some food and fuel money ?

Well, here in the UK, we have something called BANK HOLIDAYS (favourite day MONDAY)
England & Wales get 8 public & bank holidays per year.
So, if my money is not through the BACS system before Midnight Sunday
I dont have funds in there until Tuesday

AND, don't get me going whenever the 28th, is a Saturday and there are no funds until Monday
When such is likely to occur, I have-to ensure that there is 'enough' to cover it from the week before, or, pay a £12 bank charge

I really FEEL the bind

Dave, did u happed to see that video about the 15yr old Israeli boy who was dead for 15 minutes, came back to life and reported all he saw while dead. It's on theMJ site. I think the post is name something like" have you seen this video and what are your thoughts on it'
Check it out, a little hard to see and keep up with the caption.but you get the main idea. Thought it would fit in with strange oddities:eheh:

I can relate to that. Recently we had a bill coming in on the 18th of every month. I called to see if I could change the date. I was told to call in on the date I wanted the bill to be due. I did amd it was all taken care of, right? Not! They tool out the amount this last Friday before thanks Giving! IT so messed up our food shopping. I was very up set. It seems these type of things always happen at special Holidays.

When it's not something we have done and out of our control, that really hurts. Where we live personal and property taxes are due by Jan. first. No way can we do this, so every year we have to pay the extra interest for not paying on time. That is my pet peeve. Thanks guys, that's me too, just venting!!!!

Dave, I just started a note and somehow it went the way of the wind. So I will start over again.

I read you profile, we are close to the same age, I am seventy, and also retired, sometimes I feel like I am just tired. What did you mostly do before you retired? Have you mostly lived in the same city all your life? What is the UK's medical treatment like for retired, and at what age is considered retirement age.

I would really like to know more about the UK, and other than watching "Wheeler Dealer" that's made in the UK I don't know much about the people and cars and churches and things.

I would be happy to answer anything you wish to know.

Hi Farout

It is with some measure of regret, that the recent software change
means that so-much of CF's history is now unreachable, but especially, with broken links
and added photos, being apparently beyond reference

The 'feeling-tired' I can appreciate on a very personal level  durability is limited
However my BP meds and Beta-blockers, and the odd nap, keeps me going, today

Prior to my 2nd divorce, I was a sole trader, providing property repairs and improvements
until I became ill with Peripheral Vascular Disease, which symptoms were ameliorated
with four angioplasty procedures over 3-4 years
Since joining The Golden Eagles, I have also had two inguineal hernias repaired (bilaterally)
I have been informed that 'risk' is now so-great, that I can no-longer have Elective Surgery
and am now, Emergency-Only

I am originally from Bristol and apart from my time in the army, I spent my entire 'life' there
I was introduced to my Mary (here in Manchester) online, in 2006
and moved here to be with her in July 2007
I wasn't looking for yet another 'relationship' as I felt I wasn't 'up to it' (physically)
Surprise-surprise, we will have clocked-up nine years 'together' in July next year

65, was the retirement (by age) and there has been some announcements re: the intention
(by government) to raise the retirement age, to 70

Presently, I am the official Coordinator for our local neighbourhood watch (Home Watch)
and I liase, between residents, the local Housing Authority and Police ~an unpaid (voluntary) position

I know for certain, that we have our fair share and more of temples, mosques and churches
have a huge Jewish population (just up the road a-ways) and many languages (other than English)
are spoken in our area alone....
Almost unbelievably, I have read that 200+ languages are spoken here in Salford, Greater Manchester

Justice is served !!

Our daughter when she lived with us for a while as an adult; She had an overdue book for about a month. We took it back to the Library. However about a month later she had a summons to court. It said costs wer for a brand new book they bought before we returned it, and court fees and court cost. The wonderful cost's totaled about $350.00. If she failed to show up for court she would have a warrant for her arrest. When she went to court she was sentenced to 90 days in jail , but suspended and three years probation. She was a good little girl and it was all paid and she passed her probation time with no further Library evil deeds.
Now if your caught with them funny looking smokes the penalty is not quite as much as she went through. That's justice for you. I so hate being involved with the legal system or those who enforce it. I don't speed, and do all I can possible can to avoid the legal system that is there to protect us. It's like the female Black Widow Spider. After mating she eats her mate. The system that is there to protect us, often winds protecting the wrong people.
