My favorite TV show is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Although I am a 15 year old male, and therefore would most likely be deemed as "odd" for enjoying a show in a completely separate age demographic than the one I am a part of, I do not care.
I used to fill my mind constantly with adult media. I watched shows rated TV-MA that contained disgusting vulgarity, sexual content, graphic violence, and worst of all: blasphemy. I used to delight in filling my mind with celebrations of demoralization of society. I have also most likely seen near or over a hundred R rated movies, some of which were the most disturbing things I have seen in my entire life.
Now, my interest in "mature" media is beginning to drastically lessen, thanks to God intervening in my life through My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I have stopped watching TV-MA rated programs. I do not listen to adult music or watch R movies as much.
When I watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, my soul soaks in goodness and light as opposed to the usual depravity and immoral content. The show contains love, kindness, peace, and joy as opposed to murder, sexual immorality, obscenities, and other types of "mature" content.
In addition to my above reasons for liking the show, it is also an extremely high-quality production. The episodes' plots are amazing, the music is breathtaking, and the animation is stunning. It is unlike most kids shows, which are poorly animated and filled to the brim with immature/crude behavior.
Messages of morality are stressed in pretty much every or nearly every episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Therefore, the show is enjoyable for anyone ages 4-104+ (though some of the episodes may not be appropriate for children under 7 or 8 due to scary content and/or mild action, but it really depends on the child). The young children can enjoy it for its easily recognizable qualities, such as humorous situations or cute animation. Older fans can enjoy the show not only for the humorous situations or cute animation, but for the amazing presentations of morality as well as the high-quality, artistic aspects.
I feel that God has worked on my soul through My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The show makes me a happier person. The love in the show reminds me of God's love. Therefore, God intervening in my life through the show has helped me want to be a better person. I now try to cease my numerous sinful, destructive habits. This show has helped me to want to live my life to please God, as opposed to disregarding God and sinning as much as I pleased.
Therefore, I love the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, no matter what the conformist members of society would think of me. I would rather watch this show any day than what I used to watch that was "manly" or "mature".
If you are interested in watching the show, search "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Season 1 Episode 1" on Youtube. Full episodes are uploaded there. However, be warned-there are people on the internet who pervert the show with fan-made videos, stories, etc. Make sure that you stick to the actual show. If you get interested in fan-made art, stories, etc, simply tread with caution and stay away from the people who pervert the show. Some large online communities that either involve or partially involve the show have methods for filtering out inappropriate content. If you do not wish to risk running into something immoral, I recommend you stick to watching the actual show. You may, unwillingly, run into a violent/scary or perverted youtube video thumbnail while trying to simply watch the show. However, this can be prevented by using Adblock Plus to remove most of the page, and by in addition turning on youtube's "Safety Mode" feature.
