• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Its been a long weekend. Yesterday I was awake at 4.30, today at 5.30, but I went two hours later to bed than the night before. Also my better half has gone on a girls weekend out, she left Friday afternoon, and left me and Sam home. Sam is our down syndrome girl of 28. She is severely mentally handicapped and rather autistic and doesn't offer much companion ship. A few extra chores like making her breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, but otherwise she is not a handful, she spends most of the time in her own room. (A very quiet, gentle withdrawn and lovable person our Sam is.)

Two of our grand kids game up for the afternoon yesterday. That was fun. They were playing a co-operative lan game when suddenly I entered the game from Sam's computer, they were totally flabbergasted when suddenly I came around. They didn't know Sam's computer could connect to the main computer as well, and that I had quickly installed the game, while they were playing. We had a lot of fun together, when they realised it was me.

Today might be a bit more boring. I'm feeling okay now. Trying to stay away from the news. I'm just like an Ostrich and stick my head in the sand when I see things I can't cope with.

Have a blessed week friends, I'm gone make myself a cuppa coffee.

Peace

Things have been up and down for me, though I think it's more physical than emotional. I've only been averaging about 2-4 hours of sleep a night for the last week, and as a result, my depression and erratic thoughts are a little more heightened than usual. I need to seek out a new doctor as soon as possible. :/

I hope you are able to get some sleep soon.

Surprisingly, four hours after I posted that, I did...seeing as today is a day off for me, maybe I've just been overly stressed out by my typically heavy schedule. Hopefully my eating improves, as well.

Been a little less depressed lately :)

Great to hear! :oldthumbsup:

Please consider sowing thankfulness as well as as much love, faith and hope as you can muster into your heart and mind while the going is good, and don't forget to keep repenting of faithless, hopeless, despairing or otherwise loveless thoughts and feelings when they begin to come back again in control again. Disown the depression as much as you can and place God's loving truth in those parts of yourself instead.

I know it is a epic job and far from easy but well worthwhile over the long run. The truth of God's Word never lets us down.

I hope you have a nice long break from the pressing darkness, and that the breaks grow longer and stronger each time again, until you see good coming forth out of bad, for then you have begun to overcome depression and its misery for sure.

:hug:

I hope this will soon be your testimony as well.

Psalm 34:1-10
I will extol the Lord at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.
I will glory in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me;
let us exalt his name together.:bow:

I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.

Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Fear the Lord, you his holy people,
for those who fear him lack nothing.
The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.:oldthumbsup:
