What does everyone think about CERN?
Interesting stuff. Scares the Luddites, but so has every other scientific effort in the past few centuries.

We still do not completely understand what matter is made of and we still do not know exactly how atoms produce a gravitational field.
Phenomena occur in the quantum world that defy common sense, but yet they do occur and can be proven to occur with mathematical certainty.

According to the Laws of Thermodynamics energy cannot be created or destroyed.
It can only change from one form to another.

Einstein's Special Relativity has been proven with thousands of experiments and nuclear weapons would not work unless it was a reality.
Matter can be converted to energy and energy can be converted to matter.

Therefore, if we put these two fundamental laws of physics together, our universe could not have been created by scientific principles, since matter and or energy cannot be created from nothing.

The reality of creation stares us in the face every day, if we just open our eyes and look.

As to the fear of a particle accelerator opening the pit of hell, I would be more worried about the U.S. Supreme Court...

I'm conCERNed about both the Supreme Court and the CERN.

All of the things going on in the world and still Christians are living compromised and rejecting the Spirit of God while living it up in their fleshly sins, trying to make more money and get more stuff and entertain themselves to death.

North American Christians gotta wake up or die a spiritual death as they are separated to the "goat" side because of their compromise before God.

I wonder what you guys think that the U.S. Supreme Court has to do with unlocking the abyss?

It has nothing to do with it.
The poster was making a poor attempt at saying the topic of the thread isn't as important as matters of the USA.

Why do you have the CF advertisement to PAY for services here as your signature? This forum is trying to make money off of people instead of offering free ministry.

CERN is nothing more than scientific research and progress, and I certainty don't believe that any human technology could 'open a portal to wicked spirits'. That would make a decent sci-fi plot though..

That is well beyond science fiction and well into the realm of fantasy.

Only God can create something from nothing.
The scientists at CERN, however, are not creating 'something from nothing' - they have collected "dark matter" which is a substance.

Stephen Hawking disagrees with you .

Dr Hawking states that our universe could undergo a catastrophic vacuum delay as a result of CERN's activities and warned against it.
Dr Stephen Hawking describes the CERN as the greatest threat yet to our planet.

Are you familiar with Dr Stephen Hawking?

I have read some of his books like "A Brief History of Time", so yes I am familiar with Dr. Hawking.

I also know he is a committed atheist, so his viewpoint is not unbiased.

They do not have any "dark matter" stored up somewhere in a bottle at CERN, because they are not even sure of what it is at this point.

C.E.R.N. is imho a modern day Tower Of Babel. However, this time, our Father will allow them to succeed according to His will and not theirs.

Gen.11:
And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Those who built it intended it to be a particle accelerator.

Those who run it take pieces of atoms and smash them together, in an effort to understand what matter is made of.

I had not previously considered its role in end-time speculation...

What concerns me is that we don't know the true purpose of this so called lhc. They give the public a mundane explanation to prevent public outcry. But what they are actually doing is trying to tear open the veil between the spirit realm and the natural realm, corrupting God's way.

Speaking as a retired scientist, I am amazed at the last several posts. Why CERN? Why any of the dozens of other less powerful particle accelerators? There is one reason and one reason only ---- to better understand nature. Any such understanding will eventually result in benefit to humanity even if we see no immediate benefit.

C.E.R.N. is the most public one. It is the one that clued people in to their existence. And, the great delusion is going to be just what you have said, that it is to benefit mankind. You say you are a scientist, do you disagree with Dr. Stephen Hawkins?

Clued people into their existence? They have been around since the 1930s. Almost every university with a good physics department has one. Benefit? Any advance in knowledge will benefit mankind eventually. I think that you are referring to Stephen Hawking? I will have to research just what he said in its full context. You could assist me with a reference.
