Dozens of what? I don't know one single commandment that says "Thou shalt speak the sacred name of God aloud."

Basics. If you read Hebrew or look at Hebrew verses, you know they don't say god, lord, etc.
Do you know how many times YHWH is in the Tanakh? About seven thousand.
Far from being rare, it is the most COMMON word in the Tanakh.
In English, the most common word in books would be something like 'and', 'the' or 'a'.

Did you know that the word Baal = Lord? Every place LORD (all caps) is used, it is YHWH.

These are just a few commands and examples of using his name.
--------------------------------------

Jeremiah 23:26-27 - "How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart, who try to make My people forget My name by their dreams which everyone tells his neighbor, as their fathers forgot My name for Baal."(LORD)

Isaiah 42:8 - I am YHWH, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.

Ex 9:16 And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to show in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.

Deut 32:3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.

Josh 9:9 And they said unto him, From a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the LORD thy God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt,

1 Sam 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

1 Sam 20:42 And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed for ever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city.

Job 1:21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

Ps 7:17 I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.

Ps 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

Ps 102:15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

Ps 102:21 To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

Ps 113:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.

Ps 113:2 Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.

Ps 116:4 Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

Ps 116:13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

Jer 16:21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is YHWH.

Mic 4:5 For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.

I know this. So what. It doesn't make your case.

Taking one at random and changing names back.

Psalm 113:1 Praise ye YHWH. Praise, O ye servants of YHWH, praise the name of YHWH.

Do you consider that a command? Praise may not be not public enough.
The next two are definitely not private actions.

1 Chron 16:8 Give thanks unto YHWH, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.

1 Chron 16:29 Give unto YHWH the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship YHWH in the beauty of holiness.

While I accept the use of the holy name in certain situations (primarily in academic discussion of the subject and in prayer) I know we don't really know how it was pronounced, which is a point you are overlooking, Pat.

I also have to react to this statement:

"Did you know that the word Baal = Lord?"

And ?

Adoni means (my) Lord.

Melek means King.

There was even a pagan god called Melek (vocalized as Molok today, for various reasons).

There is nothing about lordship or kingship that is offensive.

God is called Merciful, and multiple Arab gods (in the polytheistic period and thereafter) have been called Merciful as well, so should I not call God Merciful ?

DID U NO

Odin was called Allfather. So we can't call God our father.

And of course, Odin was called God, so we can't call the Biblical deity God.
And the Roman deities were called deities, so we can't call the Biblical God a deity.

Zeus was called Theos, so Paul shouldn't have called Hashem a Theos. BURN HIS WRITINGS

The Mesopotamians worshipped the pagan El, so now all the angels have to change their names.

I dealt with the pronunciation. It is meaningless.
Do you think he is limited by our understanding?
Do you think any Hebrew scholar could understand Moses if he appeared today?
We do the best we can and he honors that. What he does not honor is compromise with the world.

J4J Rabbi Kurt Schneider used the priestly blessing for Trump, inserting "Jesus" and saying the sacred name of God aloud. That is just offensive in so many different ways. What was he thinking?

That news org's headline is misleading which you also took on in this OP.

They are calling this Kurt Schneider a 'Jew for Jesus' not someone part of 'Jews 4 Jesus', it's a big difference. You are a Jew for Jesus but you do not belongs to Jews 4 Jesus or are in anyway affiliated, right?

And pray tell what is so extremely "offensive" about this? He was certainly not blaspheming God (since Jesus is God), and he was simply showing goodwill to Donald Trump (which is fantastic coming from a rabbi). What he was thinking is that a man who wants to "Make America Great Again" has the good of America at heart (contrary to the majority of the politicians in the USA). Nothing wrong with that. I say "Bravo" and keep up the good work Trump. BTW Donald Trump is the only presidential candidate who publicly displayed his personal Bible and publicly said "I am a Christian".
Yes, I would agree that he could well represent the Christianity of the US Today.

Won't it be great......................And the Lord shall become King over all the earth; on that day shall the Lord be one, and His name one.

"Thou shalt not take the LORD thy God's name in vain." Better to err on the side of caution.

I believe that means to not use it lightly,,,,, what that man was doing in all honesty was not taking it lightly.

An English language tendency combined with slang, it's easy to assume. 4 in J4J means 'for' but they used it I think to promote antagonism.
My Editor background haunts me at times. ;)

pfffffffffftbwhahahahahah! *sprays the screen with tea*

Funniest thing I've read in years!
It's at least interesting that people from other nations spend so much time slandering political figures in the USA, whereas Americans overwhelmingly think that who is chosen to govern in those countries is the business of the voters who live there.
