Dear ILoveJesusChristOurLord. A very good way to show our Lord is to follow His advice. In Matthew 22: 35-40:
Jesus tells us: " The first and great Commandment is: " Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: love thy neighbour as thyself." Verse 40 tells us: " on these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." God is Love, and God wants loving sons and daughters. What to do? Matthew 7: 7-10:
tells us: " ask and receive," we ask God for Love and Joy, then thank God and share all love and joy with our neighbour. ( neighbour is all we know and all we meet, friends and not friends) We keep asking for Love and Joy, then thank God and share all love and joy with our neighbour. God sees our loving efforts, and God approves and blesses us.
The Bible tells us: " Repent and be Born Again," change your selfish wishes and wants into loving and caring.
The Holy Spirit will help and guide you, and Jesus our Saviour will lead you all the way: JESUS IS THE WAY.
You might stumble and forget at times, but then ask God to forgive you, and carry on loving and caring.
A Christian`s weapon is Love, with love we can overcome all enmity and wrong behaviour. We will find that people will treat us the same as we treat people, and soon we will be sign-posts to God our Heavenly Father. Love is very catching, and we know that Satan and his followers will flee from all Love and Compassion. Soon we will change into the men and women which God wants to be for eternity. I say this with love, ILoveJesusChrist. Greetings from Emmy,
your sister in Christ.

Hey!
I am a newly converted Christian, I said to Jesus that I accept him into my heart and as my lord and saviour. I already feel better, I can feel love around me it's hard to explain. What do you think I should do to really show Jesus I am a Christian, I need healing and want to see Jesus like other people have visions.

The answer is simple: Study Jesus' teachings and be just like Him.

“I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.” John 14:12

I wouldnt look for visions. But do have a relationship with God and communicate with Him.

Welcome to the forums! I'm sure we're all happy for a new member in Christ'a family. :)

I agree with other posters here, keep on praying and studying God's word, the Bible. Those are the general ways of getting to know God; visions and prophecies are special gifts from God for the church and not ways of private worship or such (usually). Anyways, I would not think it necessary to strive for them right now!

Getting in touch with a church sounds like a good idea. I hope you'll find a place in the church you've chosen and that it will be a good place for you to grow in the knowledge of Christ. Have a blessed journey as a Christian!

Sounds like you did receive the Lord in your heart. As such you are a child of God.

"But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God." John 1:12-13 ESV

I recently been teaching this to my wife as a marriage relationship. When we let Jesus into our hearts, our spirit and the Holy Spirit become one. We are no longer at war with God, but what your experiencing is the peace of God. You feel his love for you.

Remember, you are now a child to our Father in heaven, and a disciple(student) to Jesus our teacher. Let Jesus be your coach, and let him teach you 'how to live'. You don't have to be perfect, and you will make mistakes, but thankfully God will keep forgiving us as long as we repent. He rather reconcile than lose the relationship.

"Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times." -Matthew 18:21-22 ESV

Welcome to the family!

Paul discussed the variety of gifts that Christians have in 1 Cor 12:27 ff. Some Christians go after visions and other specific signs. But most of us don’t have them. Indeed the phrase “inviting Jesus into my heart” is of questionable Scriptural accuracy. Jesus normal term for us is followers, servants, or even slaves. And at times, friends. I think a more accurate term for becoming a follower is hearing his call.

John 15:14 says we are his friends if we do his commandments (which, according to verse 12, means loving each other). Jesus tells the rich young man who asks about salvation that to enter life, he needs to keep the commandments (Mat 19:17).

I am not telling you that we can become God’s children by doing some quota of good works, or ever worse, by being perfect. We become his children because we're his already, and his sheep recognize his voice. For Jesus, the Father is permanently committed to his children, and doesn’t give up on us no matter what we do. But still, for Jesus the primary content of the Christian life involves how we treat others, particularly other Christians, and how we act. I don’t see him describing the Christian life as involving visions, tongues, or other religious experience, though of course it’s based on prayer and worship.

I think we gain assurance as we gain experience in prayer, worship, and treating others as Jesus taught.

I think it is fine to pray for visions. I used to pray for God to talk to me almost everyday and tell me what to do. Just make sure that if you do have visions, that they line up with the Bible. Just be careful that you don't fall into the trap of becoming a false teacher based on dreams and visions. I fell into that trap when i was young. I would preach to my family based on dreams instead of the bible. I posted in a couple of places on the internet too. Nobody believed me, except i may have convinced my mom and myself, but I have since apologized and explained to my mom that what I taught wasn't biblical and should be ignored. I feel bad but this next passage described me pretty well. I don't think you will, I'm just warning you of what can happen, so don't let it happen to you like it did to me.

OK first off, when someone gives you advice or tells you to do something, make sure it does not go against the word of GOD.
Here is a taste of what i have learned through the Holy Spirit.
Firstly
1 Corinthians 14:1 "Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy."
Charity means love.
DO Desire gifts and visions and healings and miracles, because GOD says to desire spiritual gifts.
But wait.... These are gifts of the Holy Spirit.
You may already have the Holy Spirit, but just take a quick look at these scriptures and it explains How to be filled, the power to live free of Sin and other biblical truths!

What you need is a spiritual experience with GOD. I will tell you a few things i know. Before i do know this, miracles are being worked today, and the gifts of the Spirit are being used, (Healing on me, others) And gifts of tongues, Prophecy, and miracles. If you are wondering why rarely any work in the Gifts of the Spirit. Keep reading, to start know this GOD's word is truth!

You can know Jesus Christ loves you and died for you and rose again, but to personally experience this love you must have the Holy Spirit Romans 5:5 "And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."
to live free of sin you must have the Holy Spirit. TO BE SAVED you must have the Holy Spirit. The question probably running through your mind is, how can i be sure that i have the Holy Spirit? i will answer that soon, below states our need of the Holy Spirit of Christ.
Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

How do you be filled with the Holy Spirit?
John 7:38-39 "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)"

ASK GOD for His Holy Spirit, get on your knees and ask Him daily, be willing to give up all sin in your life. a small story is my brother in Christ was trying to be filled with the Spirit for a long time.... LONG..... it wasn't until he was forced to sell His car (which he admitted to idolizing it) that the Spirit came in and filled Him and he began to speak in another language while trying to pray regularly (the Holy Spirit and the Gift of tongues)

Luke 11:9-13

9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
http://www.christianforums.com/bible/romans/8:13/

Why do people not work in gifts? Many have taken to themselves itching ears and heaped preachers that do not preach the ability nor the need to live Holy and free of sin.

Romans 8:13
"For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live."

If we through the SPIRIT put to death the deeds of the flesh we shall live..... This is why so many Christians are still living in sin. They do not know that the power to break free is from the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ! OR they try and live free of sin without the Holy Spirit and end up falling back into sin over and over and never break free. All you have to do is be willing to let go of sin and believe on Jesus Christ as the scriptures hath said, and GOD will give you the power to overcome all sin in your life by the Holy Ghost!

This is what separates many Christians, they want to believe that there is no way they can live free of sin. They want to accept eternal life in Christ Jesus and His blood sacrifice, BUT leave out the part that there must be a change in us. We can not continue in Sin. (This is not saying we will be perfect, but the Spirit will work on us until Jesus returns! and we sure do have power to let go of every sin because of what Jesus did and His Spirit given unto us.)
Do not be mistaken....
1 John 2:1 "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:"

But GOD is looking for the one who wants to be perfect as He is perfect, not the one who secretly deep down wants to enjoy in inappropriate content or fornication or (fill in the blank) and He WILL give you the power to break free from all sin.
