Oh my - you are now going to be waiting on tenterhooks

Tenterhooks were used in carpet weaving I believe

just been having fun watching Opal's pups making their presence known - they were clearly wanting some attention - just about climbing out of their pen - and eventually all became clear as trays were put down for Puppy breakfast time - the pen was opened and they tumbled out to put their little faces in the feeding bowls

Now we have happy pups wandering round the kitchen area on their still slightly unsteady legs, having fun and pretending to attack things It's hilarious

Opal back in the pen and pups now all weighed and have been put in with her

Believe me - I was giggling watching it all - Imagine a slightly wobbly pup trying to attack and pull away the towel under a feeding bowl [ think it actually was a water one ] - incredibly cute - needless to say the pup didn't win

And how do you get wriggly pups to stand still on scales ?

Right - time to start being productive

we still have Indian Summer here--leaves of Pre-Autumn, low humidity, but temps of Summer, and clear, very blue skies. It's a very short (2 weeks tops) season between Summer and Fall, but much apprciated for all that.

O'siyo everyone. Sorry for my absence. My life has picked up some momentum this last week. My oldest daughters rescued two dogs while they were out of town, a mama and her puppy, and brought them home earlier this week. So, we now have two new dogs in our home and we have been trying to acclimate them to their new environment. Yes, I know I said earlier that I would have no more pets, but I did not have the heart to tell my daughters they could not keep these two stray dogs. They were already attached to the dogs after rescuing them on a busy highway. They had told me that one of the puppies had already been ran over and killed. I have also been making plans for a celebration for this coming Monday, in honor of Indigenous People's Day. I am trying to find special activities for my children and trying to decide on NDN recipes for our meals that day too. I want to make that day a very special time for my family, while we focus more on honoring our people and our ancestors throughout the day.

It looks as if you will be having a great day celebrating Indigenous People's Day on Monday.

Hope all your preparations , particularly foodwise are going well - finding dishes that are really historically part of your ancestry is not always easy.

What else could I expect today However it's Friday and to my astonishment I've just realised that the laundry my next door neighbours put out to dry on Sunday, is actually still there on the whirly thing and once again it's soaking wet - as it has been at some point every day this week !

They are going to have to put it through the washing machine again - WHEN they give up and take it inside.

Me - I don't have a dryer but my laundry gets hung up to dry in the so-called sun-lounge - saves a lot of hassle

mine need a cleaning, but i havent figured out yet the wonderful way to wrinkle my nose and stick out my tongue 'just so' in order to
have the windows wash themselves.
