My pastor says that he thinks the main difference between charismatic/spirit-filled churches and others is that we experience God with us - we don't just abstractly believe it! This forum is looking kind of dead lately, and I am wondering - how have you experienced God with you, with your family, with your congregation lately??

I'd love to go into detail about that but I'm afraid it would be a novel. So in short, at a very young age... maybe 6 or so, she had me pray the born again prayer with her and so; God has been with me my entire life since then. Sometimes so subtely I don't realize it until later on.

For me, it's an awareness of His presence. I feel His presence often. I remember one time during my morning devotions I was suddenly overwhelmed with grief over something that had happened when I was a teenager. I had not thought of it in a very long time and even though I would admit I had been hurt I had not realized how deep that hurt went. I don't remember what it was that I had read or even said, but I remember the moment of remembrance. The grief I experienced in that moment brought me to sobbing. I can't quite explain how I felt His presence, I just did. I could feel His arms wrapped around me and I just continued to sob and to ask Him to heal my heart.
