I often sit on the ground with my children and listen to them as they share their feelings and sadness about what happened to our ancestors there. It is a very moving and spiritual experience for us all. I want my children to know and understand the struggles and triumphs of our ancestors and of our people today. They must learn and understand it all, so they can teach it to their own children and help keep our people's stories alive.
