• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Ever looked on one of those newsfeed pages(MSN,Yahoo, ect.)? Doesn't matter what the story is; look at the comments below. I can guarantee that by the 3rd or 4th comment there will be mudslinging, name calling and insults, usually throwing race, politics or religion in the mix that has nothing to do with the news article.

For that matter, go to any theological debate forum on this site. Before long some will show their true colors: full of cut 'n paste head knowledge but with cold selfish hearts. They just HAVE to be right no matter what.

The Bible has wisdom on the subject (2 Timothy 2:23-25, 2 Timothy 2:14, and others).

Sorry about the quasi rant. It's kind of a sore subject with me. Firefly, I take no issue with your post. A healthy civil debate can be fun and beneficial. My view is subjective. With my depressive tendencies, arguing for it's own sake is a negative. Unless I'm really PO'd, I have trouble putting my thoughts together for both a defensive or offensive position. As Poster0 sometimes says, I just get kind of numb and really just don't care. If they want to be right let 'em be right even if they aren't.^_^

It grieves my heart to see some Christians so loveless.

But see, I wasn't debating him. I didn't go looking for an argument. I just wanted to show him some kindness and maybe brighten his day. Instead, all I got was "I have every right to be a grouch!" :(

You have a good heart. I have no doubt your intentions were nothing but honorable. Some folks enjoy being miserable. I used to be like that before I knew who I was in Christ.

Sometime people close off and will not accept someone reaching out in love to them; they see it as adversarial. It's just pride. Heck, for all you know this person may be seriously mulling over what you said. In which case you have just planted a seed, my friend!:)

I was just commenting on debate in general. I wasn't preaching at you brother. Preaching at myself maybe.

I don't care about politics, and i dont care about Catholics vs protestants, nor do i care about Sabbath, and i dont care care about church anymore. I dont care about miracles either.

I don't care to be in a church or a world that is so dividend. I hate debate. Fight your wars, follow your politicians, argue over a bunch of religious nonsense. I wont be around anymore to hear it.

I am now signed with the local food bank as a volunteer. It's been on my heart all summer. I just needed to know it was a real desire and not just some knee jerk idea. Looking forward to it.

How do I feel right now? Depressed, ticked, frustrated, disappointed, sad, sorry I ever said anything about something.

But....................my back isn't hurting so PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good, you can enjoy pain-free life for a while. Enjoy! I can be thankful too for many things. Praise the Lord indeed.

Don't worry about being ticked, frustrated and disappointed. That's what women do! (humor test v 0.88, still a work in progress)

My dear wife has gone to Perth for her mum's 86st birthday party. I stayed home because the trouble I have sleeping. It is no fun to be up half the night when you are at home, to be up half the night in a strange place that doesn't appeal to me much at the moment. I don't mind being on my own. I'm often on my own.

I realise that my psychosis is triggered by stress. The stress of the interview yesterday got my all riled up, I failed miserably at controlling it, so I gave it all to Jesus to handle and I've gone in denial mode.

It makes me realise how vulnerable I still am. I was hardly feeling nervous. I don't need this job, though it would be nice to get paid employment again. I wasn't fussing, and all went very well, and the interview took all of 15 minutes but the back lash was harder than I would have thought. Maybe I'm not ready yet? I suppose I have to be open to that possibility.

It kind of woke me up to the reality that I'm safe at home with my loved ones but not save elsewhere. Better be on my guard, so much crappy spirituality attacking right now.

And I'm gnashing my teeth! Tension galore! Not a good sign at all.

2 Samuel 22:3
"my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior— from violent people you save me."

That is great! What a leap! Awesome!

So hope it will pay off Ron. I've done volunteers work for over two years now, and overall it has been really good for me. I got to know a great person and we have had some great discussion about the word together, like doing nothing better, and not only that I met many other wonderful people as well, and it is good to be able to serve others how ever small the impact may be.

Peace.

You know Ron I am completely one with you on this. I hurt Christianity as a religion. Almost my whole religious upbringing was in the way to getting to God and safety in Jesus Christ. The very things they say and teach have attacked me like no other force on earth has. The dragon gets his fuel for the burning from religion. I was astonished like John when I understood who the great prostitute was in my spiritual realm - her duplicity - to be the temptress of human hearts, while at the same time enforcing religious laws and rules. She is such a hypocrite! Truly she drinks the blood of the saints.

Please don't get me wrong I love Jesus. He is my all time hero! I love Him for setting me free from the wicked, through His blood washing me clean - time and again - and for bringing the Word alive in me. Jesus is the logos, nothing makes more sense than hearing/seeing the word alive spirituality. The living word is who we want dwelling in us.

Isn't it great to have faith in Jesus?

Galatians 5:1-6
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.:angel: :amen:

Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.:preach: For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.:prayer: For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

Sorry about me venting about not being able to go to the psychosocial clubhouse this Sunday due to the "error" made by the Logisticare representative (Logisticare is a car service that takes you to non-emergency medical appointments, and it's covered by Medicaid, so you don't have to pay out of your pocket). I was frustrated, but now, I see that God has a plan and a purpose for everything (even if it doesn't always make sense).

I found that with us down below things don't make sense, but up above with God things make perfect sense, His truth is most profound.

Thank you Temp. I liked the joke about us ladies. We do like to gripe now and then. lol and I am no exception. It is nice to have a place to come and just let it out.

But really, the pain in my back is sooooooooo much better after SEVEN shots in my back. (Sept 29) Don't know how long it will last but I'll take whatever the Lord gives me. Some say it lasts 2 months, 6 months or even longer sometimes. I am praying for a miracle!
This is one forum we can come and no one puts us down if we are in a lousy mood. I love you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!
