The entire "bride of Christ" thing is at stake.

Matthew 22:30
At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

God is both male and female in the Bible descriptions.

So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:26-28)

Being made children of God through faith has made it so that we are no longer male or female, we are like God very God inside because of the promise that is powerfully working within us.

The marriage of God has nothing to do with distinctions of the flesh.

hmmmmm so guy christians are marrying Jesus who is also male?
I misread "guy" the first time ... watch that! (I said to myself.)

The answer is NO. Whether it is already the case or only future, the bride to Christ, the bride of Christ, is a bride by virtue of its female parts. How and why God is male! His maleness thereby defined (and also by the constant references to God as "Father.")

The marriage with God (Christ) has nothing to do with male and female? Why call it marriage then?

It is a very wrong interpretation to take it to mean the obvious falsehood that we are "no longer" male or female in Christ, that is as Christians. Is that part of the recent fashion to claim your gender is only what you claim it to be? Nonsense!
And there can be no female-male bondings among Christians? Nonsense.

"Like God inside" is nothing about what genitals you (continue to) have.
The claim of Galatians is that for the matter of becoming or being a Christian what gender you have is irrelevant. That is quite different from any thing about whether you personally are any sort of bride.

Angels "in heaven," whether that is sitting in the pew beside you or not, need not be married (to you) to be angels to you, I think that is the point.

Please give your "Bible descriptions" that lead you to think God is in any way actually having female genitalia, will you please. Your Matthew quote (22:30) is nothing about God's gender.

I did not anticipate finding myself in agreement with a Pentecostal but in general I concur with Douglas.
I am probably more Lutheran than Pentecostal (having being raised that) but am (perhaps) "transitioning."

I would suggest based on your zeal and intelligence you might enjoy studying some of the heresiological literature of the early Church.

Should we not say that is obviously nuts?
Yeah I always wonder how men picture that. I have this sweet romantic idea of marrying Jesus, but lol that must be different when you're a man.
Well I'm a son of God. We're all sons. We have the Spirit of sonship.

These ideas are too stupid for words.

Except for her being married to Jesus, of course.
Thee Spirit incarnate.

Why God is male.

According to the Bible God is Spirit.

God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
John 4:24

Spirit is more than flesh. But God is also Father, but in spiritual sense, obviously because He is spirit.

Hmmm I don't follow, so what happens to the males who become bride of Christ? God is spirit yeah? so then to marry with God .. hmmm ... it needs to follow.

The marriage with God (Christ) has nothing to do with male and female? Why call it marriage then?

Hmmm I think this being the marriage to end all marriages ... is the reality that one flesh marriages were pointing to as a type and shadow.

So HE could say: "She has a brain and a heart." Meaning a vagina.

The entire "bride of Christ" thing is at stake.

John 4:24
God is a Spirit - the Spirit of Love.

Perhaps that Spirit is most manifest for us in loving, the marriage act where there is always a real bride.
The church is or is becoming or is to be the bride of Christ; it could only be a bride through its female elements. Can we gain a better understanding of Christ and his bride though this knowledge of the movement of Thee Spirit (God)?
