What I guess I meant was that the shows are supposed to be about tattoos, successful or unsuccessful ones.

I guess any bad language that filters through as well is collateral damage.
I overlook bad language on shows I find worthy otherwise. I don't think it's gratuitous, as it is in most movies, and TV shows, on some of the reality shows. What I really object to is those who say stuff like "What the frick?", thinking that, by substituting another word, they're not really saying what they would say if they used the real word. One movie I recall, quote:"If you're going to use the f word, you might as well get mileage out of it." The shows I'm talking about are those involving life and death, possibly, and some of the guys cuss like a sailor (because they're sailors working on a boat). What I don't understand is why the writers have to script bad language, and then the actors have to say it. But then again, there's "Patton".

Yes I saw that episode.
Does anyone else watch Ink Master? The reason I bring up the show is because they had a Catholic priest on the show who wanted to get tattoos on both of his calves. One of a homeless junkie, which signified what he was at one point in his life. On the other, I believe of a saint or an angel, to show his current life in Christ.

I actually found this priest to be quite inspiring.

Is that a skull in the middle of your avatar? Skulls are very popular in tattoos, in one way or another.

I am a Knight, but that logo is sometimes misinterpreted even here. I'd hate to have others mistake it for a Nazi Death's Head and send the opposite message from what I intend.

Yes, well a skull can sometimes denote that the wearer is not afraid of death; or also in the case for example of a lady wearing a skull tattoo surrounded by flowers, that she has both a tender and tough side to her.

In the Bible it says that the Lord Jesus delivers people who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage (Hebrews 2.15).

Okay, so I'm contemplating getting a visible, overtly Christian tattoo with the hopes that it will inspire people to approach me about my faith. It will not be accompanied by any others that would distract from the message I want to send. Part of me thinks this is a good idea, the other part is concerned about it being a form of vanity or attachment to my physical body, or that the few hundred dollars it would cost could go to better use for Him elsewhere. What say you? Any experiences or thoughts to share?
as long as you don't go crazy and get like 50 of them.

I want one on my shoulder some day.

Skulls remind me of relics of the saints.
They remind me - we all die...and we have judgment to face.
So seeing one - can be good. Its a reminder even if ppl see it as defying the fear of death - its still death they have to think about.

Oh no problem. :)
Oh okay! :) my bobo. :)

Being female doesn't stop the person getting a skull based tattoo if desired, though, I guess... :)

(I'll try to be more accurate about ppl's genders, though!)

I love skin - it's so - clean.
I hate sleeves... it looks dirty - one big mess.

Hahaha - i say substitutes.
By jeepers - gee whiz, you name it [etc] - were all clean variations to using bad words.

I'm very, very choosy when it comes to tattoo art and placement. Very few really stick out in my mind as beautiful. Especially under the test of time.
I want an elegant one that says 'Bashert' with maybe some flowers or fire or something around it.
I want old English lettering.

What I really want is to depend on the Lord Jesus in the face of death and judgment because He died at the Cross and ever lives now to intercede: 'He ever lives to make intercession' (Hebrews 7.25).

The skull is indeed a popular tattoo motif.

I like looking at tattoos. As far as getting one, it's not happening. I'm too fickle. I'd have one for a short while and then be making an appointment to have it lasered off. And that is much more painful, time consuming, and expensive than a tattoo.
