Okay, let's try another approach...we can figure this out. What do you believe and what do you doubt. specifically. Most on this thread so far have assumed you doubt salvation is as easy as belief of the heart, I'm not sure that is what you doubt. So, specifically, what do you believe and what do you doubt?
well i believe that the the only way to Heaven is threw trusting in Jesus and what He has done. does that mean im saved?

I believe He is Gods son.
anything else? Who is God? is Jesus just God's son? Why do you need Jesus? Why is Jesus the way to heaven? What is heaven and why do you want to go there? ...just a few of the questions you need to know what you believe.

God is the creator of everything. Jesus is Gods son but at the same time God. Yu need Jesus to get to Heaven. Heaven is where God lives and to get there you have to trust in what Jesus has done that He died and rose again.

Why do you need Jesus death and resurrection to get to heaven? Is heaven why Jesus came to earth?

because it is the only way to Heaven. He came to earth so that He could free sinners.

I'm signing off for the night. I trust that in the power of the Living God you will discover the truth that cannot be shaken. As I close for the night, I trust I will return in the AM and encourage you to seek God tonight. Just seek Him, not heaven, not answers, not feelings, just God. Seek Him and tomorrow we will talk more.

May you find the truth that cannot be shaken, the peace that comes with that assurance, and the joy that the world cannot understand.

In the meantime, my husband and I will both be praying for you to find the assurance you seek and wisdom to know how to direct you to that truth.

Bingo, what is a sinner? Are you a sinner? (Rhetorical if you want) What sins have you commited? Have you confessed those sins to God and repented of them? To repent means to turn away from. Something to pray about tonight.

I am currently finishing a study on suffering. One of the components of that study deals with crucifying the old man (Gal. 2:20) this crucifying of the old sinful desires is part of our believing unto righteousness. It is a very painful process, but it is the purpose for Christ's coming to earth, suffering and dieing on the cross and then being resurrected. You see, Christ same to set us free from sin and death. Your posts talk about being set free from death but not sin. that is only half of what Christ came to do. In fact, sin is what leads to death in the first place. So, unless you are free from your bondage of sin, you cannot be set free from the death that is weighing on your right now.

I am now in the state where I can feel nothing. I no longer feel God and I can't believe. I'm starting to feel like this is completely hopeless and like there is no hope for me. Why is God putting me through this? Why can't I just have the believe and saving faith that I need to have eternal life with Him? I'm not really sure what to do at this point.
If your focusing too much on certainty of eternal life, you will lose sight of what this one has to offer, we can store up treasures in this life that will carry over into the next one, mainly; investing in loving relationships with people in this life can carry over into the next one...

Please, keep your head up!, and don't lose sight of what this existence here has to offer,

God Bless!

Okay, start by forgetting about what it "feels" like. Feelings/emotions can and often are deceptive. They are important to our lives, but not something we can live in.

So, setting feelings aside, are you trying to believe with your mind, your heart/being/essence, or with your emotions?
Yes, listen to razzelflabben, feelings can be deceptive, and "Agape" Love is less a "feeling" and more a determined action of the "will"...

God Bless!

Since Love was just mentioned (thanks btw) let's talk about it for a moment as well.

The best definition I can find for biblical Love after about 8 or 9 years of deep study is...putting another above yourself in an act of humility creating a covenant whose intent/purpose is reconciliation/restoration.

I hope it is clear how this applies to how God is Loving you, you seem to get that. But I'm not sure you see how it applies to your Loving God. At least from what I can gather from your posts. Your whole focus is on yourself as per your posts. You want to avoid hell, you want to go to heaven, etc. But those are all self centered things. See, Love begins by humbling ourselves before God. This is an act of brokenness for the sins committed. It is to remove the "I" from your sight and instead focus on the desire to reconcile with God all that has been keeping you apart. In fact, you talk about wanting to "feel" saved, well, this is how it happens, you first humble yourself enough to know that you need and want reconciliation with God more than you want to avoid hell or to go to heaven. When you grasp this, when you learn that God is about life and not heaven or hell, you discover that He is working within you to perfect your faith and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. This working, this change of desire, this ever more righteous life, is the very evidence or guarantee of salvation that you are seeking. It begins by seeking to reconcile with God all that you have done that is keeping you from Him.

May you see with spiritual eyes what your fleshly eyes cannot see. May your grasp just how high and deep and wide His Love is and in that revelation, desire to reconcile with Him, not for your gain, but for the sheer beauty that is God.

How do I quit making it about personal gain? I have been praying that God would humble me.

Yes, but some of those sins I did again, but daily ask forgiveness.
most of us do....so, take measure to remove them from your life. Scripture tells us that God is serious about sin and we should be to.

Here is an example. My husband was addicted to inappropriate content, so he banned himself from computer use unless I was in the room looking over his shoulder. He would not look at the mail in case there was a provocative ad. Things like that.

I had a long commute when I was battling anorexia. I posted passages throughout my car so that they were always in front of me. I also prayed the entire commute. Scripture tells us that one way to avoid sin is to pray, that is why we are to pray without ceasing.

Scripture tells us that it is better to lose a hand then end up in hell, likewise with an eye. These are extreme measures. An accountability person is also helpful. See, repenting means taking measures to avoid sin. When my husband and I were engaged, we had a weak moment. Rather then giving in, we took extreme measures to avoid it happening again. So what are you doing to repent/turn from/take extreem measures to actually turn from your sin not just go through the motions? Again rhetorical if you want, but something you need to work out with God.

glad I could help....if I can be of any other service to you, just let me know.

May you grow in the Lord as you learn to lean completely on Him. May you discover all that you gain as you lay yourself aside in search of the Living God.
