As for reincarnation: religions that have traditionally embraced this concept (such as Hinduism and Buddhism) tend to view it as a burden or a curse. It's not seen as a "second chance" (as some Christians conceptualize it), or as a blessed return (as many neo-pagans picture it), but as a result of all the errors you accumulated, shackling you to another round in an illusory prison of self.

I know. But being human seems like a punishment to me. Sure, we have all these nice things and convenience, etc. But all of that just makes me feel dead.

Being born in and fighting for my survival, in the wild... I don't know why. It just appeals to me.

So I don't really care about what religion makes of it. The OP says "given the choice". I made assumptions that I could choose the method and the form, as it would be a 'reward', yes? So in this case, it's not a punishment.

Who would NOT choose Heaven? :) I would like to go to Heaven definitely, but I would also like to be allowed to be a ministering spirit to those on earth still struggling to find God. Sort of like an angel except humans don't become angels. I would like to be allowed to go back and forth between earth and Heaven to minister to those still on earth in need. :)

I think the thing is it never made sense. Human to perfection in heaven in a blink of an eye? Sounded lame. Started reading more about it and may have come to the conclusion that it's probably a billion year (earth years) process that leads to perfection in 'Paradise'. But it's not instant. Many planets to visit and much to learn. With that, eternity sounds alight now. But I would wager it will make much more sense in a non material form.
