Prayer for the Strength to Forgive

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Obliterate any persistent feelings of malice and heal my memory, let me not be obsessed with wrong doing but manifest Your love and grace, amen.

Lord, may I see through the right eyes, may I battle evil with Your goodness. May I spread only faith, hope and Your love.

Help me on this day to forgive and to not indulge and dwell on negative feelings and resentments. May all around me conduct themselves with honor and integrity, amen. May I conduct myself with honor and integrity.

Help me see the things I need to see in others.

Teach me how to forgive, to see others in the light they need to be seen in, amen
