This string may have wound down, but I will add another video in case anyone might enjoy it. I especially love when the spiritually profound and the hilarious are combined, as in the vid I posted earlier. Here is another one kind of like that. It is about what happened when a (healthy) 19 year old boy, who really didn't even know who faith healer Kathryn Kuhlman was, found himself at one of her miracle services in the 70s.

You really only need to see about the first 30 minutes as the rest is kind of a pastoral message.

I've heard of miracles. Have a seen one in person? Well if I recall I was one (clinically dead...etc). I have prayed for people who have been healed. Such as a cancerous tumor disappearing. Now I still have some health issues but I still believe someone can be healed. Though some non-believers try to say God must not be real if He doesn't heal everyone. I say our answer to our prayers isn't always a yes. Sometimes what we have may serve a purpose, theres a reason for everything. Maybe we will get healed later. Or maybe never. I knew a VERY amazing pastor who lived into a very old age. Hes been very sick for 10+ years now. In a nursing home. Pretty close to death. He isn't healed yet. I know of another pastor who died of cancer at a young age. Healing is not impossible, but God only knows why some get healed and others don't.

Beach Sun - You said you could go on about how you were healed from the supposedly incurable Graves disease and "could go on" but seemed to feel a need "to keep it short." If you've got the time and the inclination I wish you would "go on" and tell more. :)

I just didn't want to bore people with the specifics ;)
Basically I was very ill. My numbers were in the critical range. My resting heart rate was 160.
I was new to a Pentecostal church at that time. They were holding a revival and prayer service. I went forward to be prayed for. The Pastor had no idea what I was in need of, other than "prayer for healing". As soon as he laid hands on me and began to pray, I felt physical "hands" inside my neck, squeezing my thyroid gland. It startled me so much I broke away and jumped back. The Pastor, with great compassion yet conviction said, "It's ok. God is working in you- You're not going to choke. Allow Him to work, and receive the healing He has for you."
Keep in mind, I hadn't told him what I was feeling (the 'hands') or even what illness I was needing prayer for. God gave him that word for me.
I settled down, allowed them to pray, and did receive a mighty and miraculous healing.
Thank you LoricaLady for asking.

I had a stroke almost 4 years ago. It killed me, briefly, then I regained vital signs, but was not expected to make it through the night. @ +24 hours, prognosis was upgraded to bed bound, unable to speak for life, @+48 hours life in a wheelchair, @ + 1 week constant nursing care, will never work or speak normally again...

here I am @ + ~4 years, and people can't tell I've ever had a problem. My voice gets a little slurred when I'm tired, and I get a slight hesitation tremor in my left arm and leg, but that's about it. I'm back to running a couple of kilometres a night, and I hold steady employment. I participate fully in family and social life. Now, I sure put in an awful lot of work in rehab and speech therapy and physio to get where I am, but the fact I was even able to improve with my hard work was pretty miraculous. Sure, it's not healing an amputee, but I'm pretty pleased with how things improved.

Armoured - Thank you for sharing that. If you don't mind my asking, while you were dead did you have one of those out of body experiences and/or any experience with briefly being in Heaven or anything? Were people, maybe you, praying for your complete recovery? Sorry if the Qs are intrusive.

You're welcome, and it's fine of you to ask.

Sorry, no, I didn't have any OBEs. This is actually the second time I've been clinically dead, the other was 15 years ago from extreme heat stress during army training. Both times I remember feeling completely conscious and oriented to what was going on around me, but that I consciously chose to stop breathing and have heart beat,... almost like when you say to yourself "I'll just shut my eyes for 5 seconds for rest", best way I can describe it. No tunnels of light or angelic beings or anything. Both episodes were very brief, though, like, 30 seconds or so, and apparently I came back by myself both times, just as the medical teams where about to start resus, so I don't know or claim to know how different it is if you are even "more dead", if you know what I mean. Sorry, it's all a bit hard to describe.

I was too young to remember, by my mom claims to have had a medical miracle. She was diagnosed with almost stage 4 cervical cancer when I was a kid, and her church would come in and pray with her at the hospital. Before they did a massive surgery which would make it impossible to have children, and before chemo or any treatment was started, the cancer suddenly showed as a low stage 1. I don't know about miracles with it - test results and such, but the doctor told her he hadn't believed in God in a long time but was now a believer again when he saw what happened to her and that nothing outside a miracle could explain it to him.

JCFantasy - So interesting. Thanks. I have been reading Kathryn Kuhlman's book I Believe In Miracles so what you say seems more than possible. It is a great book if anyone is interested. My favorite part includes the story of a baby with hydrocephalus, "water head", who became completely normal after being taken to Kuhlman's meetings for some weeks. This was before they had shunts to drain the heads so the baby's prognosis was hopeless. (Of all the people I have researched, Kuhlman seems the most impressive, the most backed up by medical reports. Awesome lady.)

My favorite story is about Duane Miller, who lost his voice to a neuropathic virus, though the specifics of the cause are a little sketchy. What's really interesting about it is that his voice healed while he was preaching a sermon on miraculous healing, at a critical point in the sermon. As a result, the healing was recorded, and you can hear it for yourself at http://www.nuvoice.org/ It took me a few tries before I could listen to it without tears welling up in my eyes.

My grandfather was deathly ill from failed kidneys, and he was probably no more than a day or two from death when he was healed. He had an allergic reaction to penicillin, which caused all of his teeth to fall out and his kidneys to completely stop working. He was not a church-going Christian, but he decided to go to church that day, because they were holding a healing service and he had nothing to lose. While they were praying for him, he envisioned an angel removing his old kidneys and putting in two new ones. They didn't get to finish praying for him, because he had to run to the restroom. It was the first time he was able to urinate since the failure. It came out black as tar the first time, but his kidneys were completely healed after that, and he was a faithful believer then, though he never did get his teeth back.

Oh that is too cool, and so interesting, about your grandfather! Thank you so much for sharing. :)

If we are defining a medical miracle as an event in which God intervenes and overturns a medical prognosis, I have seen three of them, over the years. All three patients were terminally ill. Two were expected to live no more than a few weeks, and the other couldn't hope for anything beyond seeing the sun come up the next morning. They were two old men and a wicked rogue who had lost his way with God. But if you think it amazing that God would actually reach out and heal such people, I can tell you something even more incomprehensible: he allowed someone far more undeserving (myself) to be present on each occasion.
