The best I have had was in a small Totenac Indian village about two hours of Mexico. They grew the beans and dried them on their rooftop. Chickens walked on these roof tops and speckled the beans (to use a euphemism). Nevertheless, it was excellent.

However around where I live the best coffee IMO is Community Coffee which is served in CiCi's.

I'm not to picky about the kind of coffee, I am however picky about how strong it is. Everyone I know makes what I think is weak coffee. I want it so dark and rich you can float a horse shoe in it. It'll put hair on you chest and a bounce in your step. :)

There are a lot of people that thinks it takes a lot of water to make coffee. It don't take near as much as some people thinks it does.

Christmas Blend, reg instant coffee mixed together, a bit o' cocoa powder, some sugar, some powdered milk, with crushed candy cane in it....if you want a colder frothy concoction, put all these ingredients in a blender and drink something that will just put you in a place o' bliss, mon

Black Ivory Coffee is some of the world's most expensive, available for about $1100/kg (~$500 per pound).
Black Ivory Coffee is a brand of coffee produced by the Black Ivory Coffee Company Ltd in Northern Thailand fromArabicacoffee beans consumed by elephants and collected from their feces
Here it is being... errr.....harvested:

More famous, and slightly more affordable, is civet coffee from Indonesia. It is about half the price of Black Ivory, but the involves a similar process, using the digestive system of a civet rather then an elephant!

I struggle to see how any coffee could be worth so much, but I would like to try either of them, assuming someone else was paying...

I'm SDA so no coffee--but I wasn't always one and tried it---the first time I drank it was to try to stay awake as I was just starting to work and was on the graveyard shift. I was 19. I foolishly drank a whole cup---my pulse went to 120-130, I felt like I was going to die and then I threw up. Stayed away from it for a while, but the smell is wonderful and over the years I tried several different kinds--but only about 1/4 to 1/2 c. at a time. Loved it, but my heart can't handle more than that and even if I drank it early in the morning, I'd still be awake all night. Guess I'm very sensitive to caffeine. I can't do reg tea either for the same reason. My friends would wait for the effects to kick in--20 min after drinking it I started talking---and talking and wouldn't shut up!! They thought it was hysterical. I just get hyper. Espresso wasn't as hard on me. My favorite was Costa Rican using a French Press. Not exactly exotic in my case, as I was born there and went to several plantation's as a child.

OH! I love Costa Rica! I wish I was there right now!

Coffee. That's something I have in common with other people.

I'm cheap and ghetto and I make my coffee one cup at a time. Instant, cold tap water, heated in microwave for 2 minutes. Not even good instant coffee. Nope, I get the Wal-Mart store brand stuff in the red-lidded container. It smells like dirt and tastes about the same. It's cheap though.
