Bless yer heart, God LOVES you. Talk to Him about this and all that is in your heart. He WILL see you through whatever it is you come across or face. He WILL minister to you, strengthen and sustain you, and equip you to do whatever He has planned for you., TRUST Him and don't try to figure it out on your own. As you trust Him, He will work it all out and EVERYTHING will fall into place, by His inexplicable grace. Praying, brother in Christ and beloved son of the Most High God. Hang in there.

I need help. How does one get over the fear of people? God tells me to love, but I don't know how and it makes me uncomfortable. Just because I am afraid of being rejected.
Time, patience and experience. Try not to worry about being rejected by people, you lose nothing in the process - they do. It's not easy to love, in time I am confident you will be moved to love for others. Prayer, reflection and Bible reading all help.

Welcome to the forum.

Hi there. You might have social anxiety. Here is a quiz that can help you decide: http://www.healthyplace.com/anxiety...xiety-disorder-test-do-i-have-social-anxiety/

It is treatable and manageable! Sometimes it feels better to think there is a name for one's problem rather than just feeling weird.

If this doesn't sound like you, no harm meant. Just ignore it. I hope God helps you have peace within yourself and with others and not feel guilty about it. God bless!

*You're a Child of God, that's your real identity...
Jesus loves us and establishes for us this identity.
His Righteousness is imparted to believers.

How to love others?
The Bible has examples of Jesus
showing love/compassion, here are a few:

“Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.” Matthew 15:32.

“When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd.
So he began teaching them many things” Mark 6:34.

The type of love mentioned most in scripture is agape...It's not based on how one feels towards someone else...nor is it based on whether one
is received or rejected.
Jesus walked in love while on this earth, everyone didn't accept him or his love.

Jesus loved us while we were yet sinners,
He died for us-- paying our sin debt.
Sacrificial love.
What sustained him to act in love?
He was in the True Vine, the source for refreshing/ love/strength/power came from
his Heavenly Father.
Jesus diligently prayed, submitted to his Father, sought what he needed from God.

Jesus' example is what we are to follow.

your fear of being rejected is based on your focus. if you focus on who you are in Christ, and how pleased God is with you exclusively because you believe Him, you won't be overly affected when people reject you, because you'll know that they are actually rejecting Him and not you. find out what God has said about you as a reborn believer; as you shift your focus from who you are in the flesh to who you are in the Spirit, and from pleasing people to pleasing God, rejection from other people will affect you less and less.

Fear and love God infinitely more than people.

An easy answer that requires a lifetime of work, and the Holy Spirit's intervention, to implement.

I have suffered from anxiety on occasion, if this is indeed what you struggle with, and I have found that a combination of professional help and prayer and bible study to be especially helpful. It's true that part of it is having your focus on the wrong thing - anticipating what other people may think and assuming negative, as opposed to focusing on God's truth that he considers you valuable. But sometimes a professional can help you get over the hump, so to speak.

Inexperience is a horrible word and when it comes to spiritual relationship with Jesus and others as Christians, inexperience definitely shows up like an annoying mosquito, as you want physical contact, face-to-face communication to be precise, as you would experience friendship during the school years where adult responsibility was unheard of while your brain was still growing and learning constantly.
Problem circumstances such as employment and money issues can prevent social activities like going to church and bible study. Television news events such as the refugees escaping to another country, goes to show why socializing has it's limitations when it comes to multicultural communities that don't accept Christianity as the ultimate religion.
One society, one faith religion will occur when Jesus returns in his Second Coming and transform us, besides planet Earth and the universe, if we are going to experience a worry-free, tragedy-free life of eternal youth, health and long-memory genius-intelligence, since Jesus is capable to supernaturally remember everyone's name and background without forgetfulness, we too, will experience encyclopedia-like memory intelligence with many brothers and sisters of Christ inside the most advanced construction-safe and free-for-all home accommodation: the kingdom of God on a new paradise Earth.;'*';.

Many people rejected Jesus, but he still loves them. We love people, because the Bible tells us, that the love of God, is poured out in our hearts, by the Holy Spirit. It is God's divine love in us, which makes us able to love others. Also, we love others, regardless of if they accept us or reject us, because that is what we are commanded to do from God. We decide to speak loving words and do a loving action to others, regardless of how we feel. It is a decision we make, and the act of our will, based on what the Bible commands us, and not based on how other people treat us. Jesus commanded us to love even our enemies, and they, are definitely the people who reject us.

For me I was put in one situation after another where I had to interact. Also the more I knew Christ and built intimacy with Him, the fear of rejection evaporated. It took time...Matthew 11:28-30.
