From what i read, it is "criminal" to be "homeless" there.......not because of breaking some known laws, but just being without a place to call home, is criminal. Pray for this city (and all other cities that criminalize those just because they are without a place to call home, which may be growing in numbers as the economy worsens).

I realize the article referenced is a couple of years old; I hope a positive solution has since been found.

Praying for the hearts of city officials and leaders to be filled with compassion and mercy for the homeless. Please Lord let this lead to a positive solution to problem of homelessness. May we, as Christians called to love, remember the homeless population in our prayers, and perhaps in our finances. May we see them as humans with all the capabilities and faults we all possess rather than as something second-rate. May the hearts of a brother or sister with the resources be willing to lend a helping hand to those who are seeking. May they see Jesus in us. Please Lord, you know the hearts of all men, grant those homeless individuals whose personal struggles may be contributing to their state the strength and resources to overcome them.

I haven't seen where it's changed. Apparently other cities have begun criminalizing homelessness as well.

Praying.

:prayer:
I am shocked at what I just heard about South Florida as well, how so many thousands of school children are homeless! How the school boards knows about them and "track" them... knowing even that one lives in the bushes across the street from a school! Where is the outpouring from the community, the school system, the local government...the churches!!

Oh LORD help us find a way.

It's far too common for the homeless to be treated as less than a person , a person with a soul just like the rest of us, or have them be simply forgotten. Let's not forget .

Amen.
