Hey!
I am a newly converted Christian, I said to Jesus that I accept him into my heart and as my lord and saviour. I already feel better, I can feel love around me it's hard to explain. What do you think I should do to really show Jesus I am a Christian, I need healing and want to see Jesus like other people have visions.

Well first, don't go looking for visions - or prophecies, dreams, or the like. Vision seeking has nothing to do with following Jesus.

Second, without knowing more about your beliefs or background, it's hard to advise specifically, but I would in general suggest connecting to a church where you can worship God, receive the sacraments, etc.

If you're not sure about which church, I could make some suggestions, but I would rather encourage you to research. Pick up a decent Christian history book, or read up on the mainstream denominations, as some examples of what to research.

From there, visit your local church options & when possible, be baptized. Baptism is the visible means of joining the Christian community, the Body of Christ.

Good luck.

Thank you! I was a Sikh before. I do have a local Church and will attend, I find myself sometimes accidently saying certain prayers from Sikhism by accident in my head, I guess I'm going to have to adjust gradually.

Praise God, our Savior knows you are a Christian!!! He is the source of that love you are experiencing! He isn't asking you to have visions, He is asking you to share your joy with others.

Blessings!

Don't worry. :)

I must admit my knowledge of Sikhism is limited, I will have to read & learn more.

Many Christians recite the Lord's Prayer, regularly in the church liturgy or in private devotion. There are other common prayers used in corporate worship or privately, such as the Jesus Prayer, the Gloria Patri, etc. Prayer of course can also be free form or spontaneous.

In the Episcopal Church (USA) where I attend, we use the "Book of Common Prayer," which contains our liturgies & prayers used in corporate worship & by individuals. The book is a treasure of our tradition.

Sikhism is a very peaceful loving religion, I still respect it a lot, it accepts that prophets like Jesus did walk the Earth and has 10 Guru's (teachers). It believes a lot in Karma and past life actions.

Aaaaaah I see, I think I'll understand a lot more when I attend my local Church.

Thank you!

Be baptized in the name of Jesus and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38 Amplified Bible (AMP)
38 And Peter answered them, Repent (change your views and purpose to accept the will of God in your inner selves instead of rejecting it) and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of and release from your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Here's a good article on what you need to do next: http://www.truediscipleship.com/bsub/subjects46.htm

Jesus already knows whether or not you're a Christian, he sees everything in your heart, and soul, and mind. You can hide nothing from him. No use trying to impress him the way you would impress people by showing him something. Rather, you should demonstrate love and obedience to him, because those virtues are made whole by what you do.

As far as visions go, you may or may not get a vision depending on whether God wants to give you a vision or not. God doesn't reserve visions for the people he loves the most, so no one who receives a vision should look down on anyone who does not, and no one who has not received a vision should feel second-tier because God has not given them a vision. Besides, visions usually come with very demanding messages, and they're not all ecstatic experiences.

Having visions is not a necessary part of being a Christian and it is not something to look for; that might lead to all sorts of unpleasantness. Finding a church is necessary, so I would find a church if I were you.

I wish you well.

Sikh prayers are not a problem, as long as your heart is right before God. He will understand.

that's so true, I have been adjusting to Christianity and trying to leave my old habits from my previous religion, I'll keep my faith strong and hopefully be baptised soon

We can't always control our thoughts; God understands. I'm sure in time they will pass. Everyone has provided good advice, finding a church, reading the bible and a regular prayer life will help you on the journey. Welcome to the forum.

Lots of people I assume will want to know - why do you say Sikh prayers are not a problem?

Kindly quote me in full; I said Sikh prayers are not a problem for someone whose heart is right before God. Different thing entirely.

If someone is a Christian then the Lord will hear their prayers, even if they happen to slip into a former Sikh pattern. God is not bothered by such small matters because he reads the heart, not the words. And also because of Matthew 25.

Praying is never a mistake. The words are not as important as the fact that you are giving your attention to God, and listening for his voice.

Be careful of feelings; some churches are very big on constructing an emotional response to God, and then people may feel that if their emotions for some reason are not in line with those around them there is something wrong with their faith, or with them. Having faith is as much a matter of the will as of the emotions; sometimes we choose to believe in spite of our feelings.

As a young Christian you may well have intense emotional responses, but they may not last. Try to remember them while they do last, and keep that memory safe for more difficult times ahead.
