Or another way of looking at it: those who hate gay people shouldn't be the ones who decide what the laws of a country where gay people live and pay taxes look like.
why would you want to be involved in something you think is "in apostasy"?

The Rowan County clerk, Kim Davis, has even made the news here. I was under the impression that the US allowed employees to decline to perform activities contrary to their religious beliefs if there was another employee who could carry out the task. Does this not apply in this case?
If she is the only one who can perform the task then I think she has no other option but to resign. How ever it goes, I know God will bless her for her stand against engaging with sinful practices.

The Human Rights Commissioner here in Australia recently wrote:
"Preserving religious freedom is greater than exempting religious celebrants, such as priests, rabbis and imams, from being bound to marry all couples. It can also require that some people of faith are not forced to act against their conscience and participate in a marriage they disagree with, from hosting a service to providing services. Their rights are just as important as those of same-sex couples wanting to marry.”
Unfortunately it does not look likely that his view will be incorporated in legislation covering ssm.

No, she's a government employee and can't refuse to serve the public. She's elected by the people and doesn't get to decide which of those people she wants to deal with.
Wrong. For one, she's a complete hypocrite since she's on her 4th marriage and we know how Jesus feels about hypocrites. And two, Romans 13:1.

Ezekiel 16:49 says Sodom was destroyed for inhospitality. The city was not full of gays. Attempted rape of angels is not homosexuality. By your logic, the existence of men who rape women means all heterosexuals are disgusting abominations. Stop butchering the Bible to support hatred of gays.

Anyone can chose to obey God rather than man and it doesn't matter what a king or government or anyone else thinks. If people like this have to quit, then all Christians have to quit.
No one said someone has to be sinless and perfect to abhor evil either. God did not destroy Abraham for having a few wives or anyone else. In fact He called Abraham His friend. God did destroy Sodom as a lesson to mankind, and as was pointed out, it was for being like this..

Cherry picking at its finest. Your verses don't prove your point, and it's convenient how you leave out the most important element of the entire story.
Ezekiel 16:49 "'Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy."
That is the primary emphasis of the story and was a very big deal in Judaism. Hospitality is a divine commandment and is further shown in the New Testament.

Cherrypicking means ignoring the whole bible and harping on a verse or two. Part of the sin of Sodom was what the verse you cited said. Another part was the horrible perversions cited elsewhere in the Bible?
You are clearly and totally overruled and in error.

Actually she's not even serving the public she has couple of assistants who do that she doesn't want her name on the certificate as being county Clerk of Courts.

There is a difference between arguing a subject and attacking a person.
I don't know American law well enough to argue the point but a quick search brought up this :
"Employers must reasonably accommodate employees' sincerely held religious practices unless doing so would impose an undue hardship on the employer."

No, cherry picking means following some parts of the Bible, while ignoring other parts you find inconvenient. Condemning gays with a poor understanding of Leviticus, while you yourself ignore 90% of the laws in Leviticus is cherry picking. Claiming there was a global flood and the Earth is 10,000 years old based on Genesis, while ignoring the references to the Sun revolving around the Earth and the Earth being flat is cherry picking.
The only other "horrible perversions" described in the story of Sodom is attempted rape. And I guarantee you without question those men were heterosexual. This is further proven in Judges 19. And even if they weren't, the attempted rape of angels doesn't condemn all gays anymore than some heterosexuals raping women means all heterosexuals are evil. You're twisting the Bible to justify your hatred and judgement of gays. As Matthew 7 says, by the measure you judge others, you will be judged. Which means God is going to hold you accountable to the Torah laws which you break.

A government employee can not use the power of their office to enforce their religious beliefs on other people and deny them their civil rights. She even prevents other employees in her office from signing marriage licenses based on her beliefs. She was shot down by the Supreme Court. She's absolutely in the wrong.

Ezekiel 16:50 says nothing about sexuality or homosexuality. 2 Peter 2:7 talks about lewd behavior, but never specifies what it is. And Jude 1:7 talks about fornication, which I'm sure included heterosexuals. I assure you, it's statistically impossible for all or even most of Sodom to be full of gay people. Rape is not homosexuality. Judges 19 further proves those men were not gay. And 2 Peter calls Lot righteous, yet he offered up his daughters to be gang raped. I don't know what world you live in, but I do not consider anyone who follows the actions of Lot to be a beacon of morality.
Basing one's morality on a 4000 year old culture where slaughtering babies and offering up one's children to be raped is viewed as good is pretty sick.
