it actually brings me great pleasure to write this post. I think... In fact I know I have recently experiencedfalling in love at first sight and I also know that it is mutual and the best thing is I found out after that she is also a Christian.
Now I have had the Lord help me in times of need in the past and some phenomenal coincidences happened in succession to bring me to Christianity. I am now extremely devout. I have had a very similar set of coincidental experiences happen from the second I met this woman. She is currently struggling with her faith after adivorce and I have helped her. I also am no saint and have a history and a son.
This beautiful woman and I have been completely honest and upfront with each other from the off and have met up nearly every day since we met and just talk, for example on Sunday we did this for 12 hours non stop. I thought I had loved before and so has she, but nothing like this. It was all so unexpected on both sides that neither of us kinda know how to deal with it... It's all so intense, yet perfect... Do you believe in love at first site?

I'd personally say no I don't believe in love at first site. I have to get to know someone before I develop feelings for them. Otherwise I'd say it's more or less "lust at first site". Again, that's just me and I'm fairly cynical with regards to relationships.

I believe in soul mates, that is, God has a special someone just for you. When you first see each other there can be an instant recognition that he/she is the one. This attraction is as much a spiritual experience as an emotional & physical one. Love, however, is something that develops over time.

I loved my wife the moment I saw her. I do believe that one of the reasons God sent me down here to live this life was to be with her, support her and give her unconditional love. I do believe that one must guard against lust at first sight and use the Lords guidance as well as your heart.

I do believe love at first sight can happen. I thought it happened to me, but i was afraid it wasn't the real thing. I had been in a horrible horrible abusive marriage and was divorced, and this girl wasn't taking any chances.

This new guy asked me to marry him 42 times. I finally said 'yes' and off we went. That was 35 years ago last month and I love him more to day than I did then and vise versa. Now, don't ask my 'why the 42nd time?' cause i don't know. It was just right.

You will know when it is right. I think the first time I was just STUPID.

Yes, I believe in it, but after 21 years of marriage, I would strongly encourage you not to rush things and to be sure that you beliefs are in alignment. I can't tell you how important that is. You also need to see someone at both their best AND their worst.

Let me offer a bit of a different take. when I first met my husband, I knew something was different about him, after dating for 6 weeks, and breaking up one of those 6 weeks (cause I thought things were moving too fast) we were engaged, and married 6 months after we met, that was 28 years ago and after many trials that face all marriages, we are still going strong and very much deeply in Love/love.

I put Love/love because we have both the goo goo worldly love for one another and the deep abiding more mature Biblical Love for one another. But the kind of Love that will sustain you through the tough times, is the Love that you choose whether to give or withhold. It isn't so much about whether it is there from the first moment on, but if you are willing to give it even when you don't like each other. I remember fondly, the moment I said to my husband, I Love you (choice) but right now I don't like you very much. His response was (because of the issue) I understand why you feel that way.

Yes, I believe in Love at first sight, but I also believe that Love at first sight cannot be sustained without choosing to sustain it in the power of the Living God. Oh and btw, we did spend every moment we could together from the get go, that way, we knew each other pretty dog gone well before we even got engaged though some would say not well enough. Another interesting note for our lives, I was the first person my husband ever dated.

Hi Farfromperfectclose2truth,

I personally don't believe in love at first sight either. I'd say I'm in substantial agreement with Reep. An initial attraction/infatuation is common, but it sounds to me like you began developing a love for this woman after interacting with her and discovering you probably share similar values and interests. But, be that as it may, as long as you two are both single and your union is godly then more power to you my friend! Prayers sent for you and this woman.

God's blessings to you in our Lord Jesus Christ's holy name!
