While the tribulation is true, the disciples being divinely inspired all the time, including when they wrote parts of the Bible is false.
What you are advocating is that the bulk of the New Testament cannot be trusted. That is completely false.

Well, that doesn't mean the bulk of NT is false. It just means it deserves further scrutiny...

Remember, Christ told us to test every spirit... What if that spirit pretended to be the Holy Spirit, deceived a person to write a scripture that eventually found itself in the Bible?

Of course the Bible acknowledges Christ but does it acknowledge Christ directly or indirectly in every teaching? The answer is NO.

And what if an ill-conceived scripture made it to the Bible given the fact, the Bible is a collection of scriptures from many different authors? Then it can no longer be trusted without scrutiny.

Could not happen? If that is true then non one should find contradicting ideas within the Bible or within the NT. BUt the fact is that it exists and the contradictions are still apparent in the earliest, most original copies available (the truly original copies are missing...)

Those mistakes are there. Unless you're blind or unreasonably fanatical or unjustifiably biased, which makes it impossible to to see those mistakes.

The apostle John wrote how there is only one single Christian “truth”—and all who deny that single truth are not of God:

I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth. Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist [Greek: one who opposes Christ], the one who denies [Greek: contradicts] the Father and the Son. (I John 2:21-22).

Now watch as theologian Albert Barnes brilliantly unmasks our modern "Christianity," which is composed of thousands of differing and contradictory doctrines and beliefs:

No lie is of the truth – No form of error, however plausible it may appear, however ingeniously it may be defended and however much it may seem to be favorable to human virtue and happiness, can be founded in truth. What the apostle says here has somewhat the aspect of a truism, but it contains a real truth of vital importance, and one which should have great influence in determining our minds in regard to any proposed opinion or doctrine.

Error often appears plausible. It seems to be adapted to relieve the mind of many difficulties which perplex and embarrass it on the subject of religion. It seems to be adapted to promote religion. It seems to make those who embrace it happy, and for a time they apparently enjoy religion. But John says that however plausible all this may be, however much it may seem to prove that the doctrines thus embraced are of God, it is a great and vital maxim that no error can have its foundation in truth, and, of course, that it must be worthless.

The grand question is, “what is truth;” and when that is determined, we can easily settle the inquiries which come up about the various doctrines that are abroad in the world. Mere plausible appearances, or temporary good results that may grow out of a doctrine, do not prove that it is based on truth; for whatever those results may be, it is impossible that any error, however plausible, should have its origin in the truth”

Perhaps Mr. Barnes has “nailed” the reason why organized Christianity favors the following beliefs, all of which are plainly contradicted by the words of Jesus Christ:
  • That humans who die "lost" can never be saved and are condemned to Hell
  • The acceptance of a hierarchical ministry in the Christian church
  • A future Tribulation and Second Coming
  • The view that states the thoughts of apostles carry the same weight as the words of Jesus Christ
  • That people are called to Christ through solely through the work of evangelism
Your thoughts?

Dr. Taylor's remarks can just as easily be applied to your beliefs by those who accept the same beliefs you consider errors.

If "those mistakes are there" then Christians are in serious trouble. Even Muslims or Mormons never say that there are mistakes in their religious books. It is always professing Christians who find "mistakes" in the Bible. However, since you are a "Christian-Seeker", you are exempt from that observation.

You need to be aware that starting in the 18th century so-called "Christian" scholars and theologians made it their life's work to find "mistakes" in the Bible. Those were the Higher and Lower Critics who all subscribed to Theological Liberalism. So Christians who reject their teachings are definitely "fanatical" about insisting that the Bible is inspired, inerrant, and infallible. NO MISTAKES. PERIOD.

Not everyone is in serious trouble if the mistakes are true.

NO MISTAKES. PERIOD.

Muslims, Judaists, etc, also use the same "argument". They also experience miracles, evil spirits/casting out, etc....

Biased claims obviously.

Ever wonder why there are "3rd-party Audits"? Because it minimizes/eliminates biased evaluation. Audits are usually conducted by someone unaffiliated to the organization they are evaluating. Thus, Christianity being audited by a Christian especially from the same denomination is an oxymoron.

I think I am an unorthodox Christian enough to make unbiased judgement of Christianity. I have no fear of judgement regardless of what I think so I could keep an open mind. With that, I have found many inconsistencies in the teachings of Christianity. There are even teachings/principles that only manifest at the low %, it's bordering lies.

Like how could unbelievers say the name of the Lord in profanity when apostle Paul said such thing is impossible. So either Apostle Paul is lying or the name of the Lord is NOT Jesus. Take your pick.

Yes, a lot of Christians is in trouble but not those who use sound reasoning. Because you cannot truly love without sound reasoning and above all, you cannot know your God without sound reasoning (you could be worshiping the devil and never knew because you have abandoned sound reasoning for blind assumptions)
