• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I'm better. Weather's too good, it's like a late summer. I don't like warm. Didn't know you were from Australia, if that's what you mean by "down under". You got wombats there! They're great. Try to catch one!

No, no wombats where I live, we do have possums, bandicoots and kangaroos and off course a lot of snakes. I court a bandicoot this morning, I set it free again away from where it does harm to our veggies. They are really cute animals.

Great to hear that you are better, what a blessing that is. I'm a lot better then before as well but still struggle at times.

Have a blessed day

Hahaa, possums and bandicoots! They're scheming to get your vegetables. They're holding a council right now.

Oh they can have their share, we don't care too much about what the bandicoots eat, mainly worms and grubs, it is just that they dig holes under the plants to find their food and in this way can be quite destructive. The rabbits are much worse. Last year we were forced to put a rabbit proof fence all around our garden - as their were dozens of rabbits eating most of our plants - we used almost 200 meters of bird fencing all dug in, it took a long time to complete. However the bandicoots still manage to worm themselves through it, leaving small holes behind for the rabbits to get through. Currently we have one small rabbit in our garden thinking it is in paradise - making a mess of our garden as it eats all our upcoming plants. Seriously considering getting a gun because our trap catches, mouse, rats, bandicoots and pigeons but the rabbit isn't interested getting court at all.

going up and down in my mood all the time today, it is getting a little confusing at times. One moment i feel great, the next I feel terrible, the next I feel nothing, the next I feel anxiety, the next I feel forlorn and sad. It seems like I'm cycling every 20-30 minutes or so and that the emotional contents is increasing all the time.

Wondering when this is going to slow down a little.

Wishing all the best for you. I hope this will comfort you in hard times: your resilience is an example for us all. You have preached Jesus, His love and His good will in all I can remember, and all of this with calmness, love and compassion. Sometimes it even seems like the worse you have it, the more you trust in God. I have needed to see this in people, and I have witnessed it, you being one of them. It strengthens my faith. God bless you, and all who are struggling, and I hope every one of you can find peace in the Lord.

Thank you brother, you humble me, its Jesus doing the good things, He is greatest as you also know and testify about.

That is why I like Christian forums, when I joined 10 years ago, I was often suicidal and doubted the goodness of Jesus often as well, but I saw that others - some very ill - who trusted in Jesus and fared far better than I did. It was their witness that guided me to also try to have more faith in Jesus and acquire a better knowledge of Scripture, to help me with my struggles, it has sure paid off.

My dear brother isn't Jesus greatest?

Not that good. I hate being a loser.

I'm severely psychologically damaged. I've had it pounded into my head that I am this disgusting creature.

I'm so sorry to hear that, but you don't have to believe what you have been told. However I know that such can be very hard to do. My dad often used to criticize me severely and often ridicule me, it hurt me really bad for many years, until I decided that I didn't have to make his words cause such damage, that I had a choice to see things differently.

We are all uniquely and beautifully made, you as well, so disgusting may plaster you, but it can never be real you. I hope you can take comfort from that.

Could try one of those rabbit snares that you see people using on those outdoor survival shows. It could work, maybe

Me too. I surely understand that feeling. I find hope in the Lord though. He gives me hope that one day i will be free from this temporary world and be in a much better one, a place where i will be new, and in the mean time that hope gives me a reason to feel good about myself, because i can look toward what i will be instead of what i am.

Not depressed but feeling somewhat *disconnected*. I suspect med side effects and not enough sleep. Went to the gym and post office today but that's about all I could muster. A little trouble with cognitive functions.

Had a terrible day today because I set it off wrong. I really want to make tomorrow better, but with all of my classes tomorrow I'm not sure how.

One way to really improve your day is to focus on loving God, neighbour and His good creation, it is a real liberation when we manage to do that.

I dont know what i feel exactly. Im concerned with my health, worried about what people think of me, glad that i have been resisting certain things, optimistic about a little hobby project i have been working on, tired physically, cautious about some things. Thinking about what Jeshu just said about love. Thinking that the Lord is my strength and love is my armor of light..

The Lord has brought me through some tough things. I should give him thanks for this. Many times i felt so hopeless, abandoned, rejected, fearful, condemned, and so very lost. I felt the sting of injustice in the words and actions of people who didnt seem to like me. I felt so very stupid for trusting people who only seemed to step on me like i was only a bug. I also felt my own shame and weakness. I felt the darkness choking me, mocking me, laughing at me. However i also found strength in the Lord which now seems to sustain me. I found liberty from hopelessness and from the opinion of others. I feel free from the burdening chains of necessity. Although i don't have a Church, or friends, or self esteem, I do have the Lord who is my friend, my church and my self esteem. THe Lord is my strength says my soul, i will hope in Him.
