Does anyone see the parallel Dylan is drawing between the holocaust and hated of Blacks I'm the US?

Personally I do not believe the song is as complicated as many seem to want it to be. I see references to racial hatred throughout the song. For instance, I believe Bob is referring to the ship of Jews who thought they had escaped being murdered by the nazi.

Another note about this song, we're you aware that Charlie McCoy just happened to show up in the same building as Dylan was recording. The man McCoy came to see Introduced him to Bob and Bob told him he was about to record the song Desolation Roe and invited McCoy to pick up a guitar and play during the recording. From what I understand McCoy had no music, no idea as to the nature of the song...nothing. the result was an incredible melodic guitar done totally on the fly. His performance became so much of the song that Dylan used him on his next 3 or 4 albums on harmonica, trumpet, guitar and other instruments. He is amazing and some research on my part revealed a long list backup music for many of the top names in music.
Take a listen (with headphones, ofcourse) and focus on the melodic guitar to the right of center. Of special note is his choice of guitar during both of Bob'S harmonica. Try to imagine that kind of talent. His whole contribution to the song was totally improvised.
