Yeah the passage is in Romans 1:16 if you want to look it up, but the topic of the thread is transmitting the POWER of the good news, because Paul said the kingdom is not a matter of talk but of power. So let us speak of how this Power can be transmitted and communicated clearly to the hearts and minds of people.

Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. (Romans 15:19)

"For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified." 1 Corinthians 2:2

To follow up on this. Paul's reference to Christ crucified, to the cross, is not just to the material cross, but to the total theological significance of the cross...the "finished work" of Jesus Christ....inclusive of His death, burial, resurrection, ascension, Pentecostal outpouring and all of our future and last expectations.

"Christ sent me to preach the gospel, not in cleverness of speech, that the cross of Christ should not be made void" (1 Cor. 1:17). "The cross of Christ is made void" when Christ's finished work and it's full theological significance is not recognized. "The cross of Christ is made void" when continuing performance standards are advocated as criteria for sanctification rather than the "saving life of Christ." The "finished work" of God that was set in motion at the cross is intrinsic to the good news of the gospel.

Yeah, the kingdom is not a matter of talk but of power, one symbol of that power is the cross, to diminish theology to just words .. is an essential element in emptying the cross of its power.

So let us speak of how this Power can be transmitted and communicated clearly to the hearts and minds of people.

I find God's power happens only with the right motives and right attitude. I have experienced God's power to share His reality in this world, to myself; to break me out of a destructive sinful attitude or to help another with words of God and demonstrations of His working power.

The motive is humbleness and focus on God getting the attention and focus (glory). The attitude is abiding in Christ and resting in His goodness and be with God with no agenda. Waiting and aware to say "money we don't have but in the name of Jesus walk".

Have not done that. Yet God has revealed inner thoughts of people and deeds of their past to help them come to a choice for Him. Power to convey Christ's words and share to strangers His love. Hey the power to forgive even when there is no reason too, just because love shows us grace we received. The amazing power of God that reveals a truth while reading scriptures.

Yes it is more than just words but His power. To be a witness of God's life in you, your relationship with Him.

Act 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
