• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I battle with fibromyalgia real bad. Our finicess are real bad. Our car is broken and my in laws are going to be paying 1500 to get it fix and I hate that cause I should have the money to take care of us but my body hurts so much. On top of that we just got a new electric bill and it is close to three hundred dollars normally our bill is under 100 cause we live in a small one bedroom apartment that my in laws own. It just never ending. I was telling my wife yesterday that I was so close to giving up. I feel like a failure as a husband, son and child of God. I am thirty three years old but cause of health issues I have battle my whole life I feel like I am 90 years old.

Thank you I am really trying. I know deep down when we find are selfs at the place where we can't do anymore that is when God shows up. I just have a hard time letting go and letting God have it. I think it's cause I just want to protect my wife and always make sure we are ok. I can't do much like I used to but what I can do I just want to protect

Praying for your healing and strength at this time, brother!
God is more than able to help you with all your struggles. I noticed you mentioned about having 'a hard time letting go and letting God have it'. When things seem really bad- and I mean REALLY bad, I talk to Him about my problems and how I'm feeling. I thank Him for what I do have and for the people in my life and I ask for His mercy, strength, help, and protection. I think He really wants you to let Him carry your burdens for you because we were never meant to carry them on ourselves. It's just too much to handle sometimes.. but He's our Heavenly Father and He is able to carry them for us. I like to also get into His Word and just spend some time with Him. Try not to be so hard on yourself. There are some things that you can't control and that's normal. But our God is Sovereign and longs to help you. It's just a matter of pouring your heart out to Him and asking Him to intervene in your life and situations.

I don't know if you've tried this but..have you considered fasting? It's a very intimate way to spend time with God. I've heard of miracles happen after people have fasted- there are many who have fasted in the Bible- Granted, the end goal/motivation shouldn't be solely focussed on getting something out of it but to be able to draw closer to God and when He sees your heart's intent, He will honour that and help you. Just something to consider- it's not a fix-all solution, but it's certainly a great way to humble yourself before Him [denying your flesh and such] and it really does help bring you closer to Him. : )
Please have a listen to this song, brother. I think it would prove comforting.

also brother..if I may add to my post above..in terms of the pain and possible inflammation, try going without bread/grain products for ..4 days and see how you feel after. I have tried to go without grain products most of the time since it's wreaked havoc on my system and body in general [personally not diagnosed with Celiac Disease], but it has helped TREMENDOUSLY for me. And perhaps..it can for you. Just try it out and see how you feel. : )
