I often hear people say "I am waiting for the Lord to tell me to do it."
I wonder if the Lord had to tell them to get out of bed this morning. Did He have to tell them to eat breakfast, go to work, eat lunch, go back to work, eat dinner, spend time with the family, and then go back to bed.
I actually did have a friend many years ago that did not work because he was waiting for the Lord to tell him. He naturally lived off the kindness of other believers... or should I say enablers. Of course we pointed out where the Lord told us things like "if one will not work, he will not eat..." To no avail.
You really do not have to have a visitation from the Lord to work, care for your families, or prep. All you need is the scripture which clearly tells us all to care for our families and to be wise.
These are the Lord talking, yes to > YOU:
1 Timothy 5:8 KJV
8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
This does not go invalid the day the supermarket shelves go bare (like they are now in some Florida towns as Erika approaches). YOU are still responsible for your family. If you can prepare for it, you should. It is no big secret that hard times are coming. Especially in the US. Even people in the world know it:
Nine out of 10 Americans expect a world disaster to occur in the next quarter century, yet 56% say they aren’t prepared, according to a survey conducted for National Geographic Channel. The percentage in the survey of 1,040 adults who predicted the following catastrophes:
Significant hurricane: 58%
Major earthquake: 53%
Terrorist attack: 51%
Financial collapse: 49%
Widespread blackout: 33%
Pandemic: 25%
Nuclear fallout: 13%

You only need to look at the signs of the times. Jesus said the "red sky" warning is sufficient a warning for you, by common sense alone, to take action for tomorrow. You do not need a vision or a angel to tell you. Common sense is sufficient.
Matthew 16:2-3 KJV
2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
Consider these the Lord speaking to you personally. Because He is:
Proverbs 22:3
“Sensible people will see trouble coming and avoid it, but an unthinking person will walk right into it and regret it later.”
Proverbs 21:20
"The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets."
Acts 11:27-30 KJV
27 And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
28 And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.
29 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:
30 Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
Seems the disiples in Antioch had more than enough to feed all the believers in Judaea. If the prophets called on you today, what would you be able to send? A can of yams?
Proverbs 6:6 –11 (NLT)
6. Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise!
7. Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work,
8. they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter.
9. But you, lazybones, how long will you sleep? When will you wake up?
10. A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—
11. then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.”
Proverbs 21:20 CLV
20 Coveted treasure and oil are in the homestead of the wise man, Yet the stupid man swallows it all up.
What is in your homestead? Again, this is the spirit speaking to you personally. No need for a angel to show up at your door and instruct you to do this.
Hebrews 11:7 KJV
7. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith
There are so many "warnings" from scripture and common sense that hard times are coming that I would feel silly having to scribe them all out here. You do not need a open vision to flee the onrushing torrents when the dam breaks... when it does, you will know what to do. The dam has broken... that is flood water you hear approaching.
This is the Spirit speaking to you now... personally:
Proverbs 27:12 ISV
12. Those who are prudent see danger and take refuge, but the naïve continue on and suffer the consequences.
Notice the factor causing the action is called being "prudent" and the factor causing inaction is called being "naïve." These are functions that issue from common sense.
Here is the Lord telling you what will happen if you honor Him. I suppose the question is do you have the barns to deal with it. You are expected to have barns to store stuff in. He is telling you this. He is specifically talking to you, and everyone reading this. Barns, or whatever other place you store stuff. We have our preps in an air conditioned room because they last longer at 70 degrees. Up to 30 years.
Proverbs 3:9-10 KJV
9. Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10. So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
These guys had stores:
Deuteronomy 28:5 KJV
5. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy
store.
I am. My store is in that room I mentioned. Point here is that you already have a store. That is expected. We are all expected to have stores. There is nothing wrong with that.
2 Chronicles 11:11 KJV
11. And he fortified the strong holds, and put captains in them,
and store of victual, and of oil and wine.
I like what this fellow believer wrote:
“The reality is that Christians and non-Christians, alike, prepare for a variety of potential disasters, without giving it a second thought. We buy all sorts of insurance policies to make sure our homes, cars and possessions are protected, we make sure we lock the doors before leaving home, and many of us who live in areas prone to certain natural disasters, like tornadoes and hurricanes, know exactly what to do if one strikes tomorrow.
The question is, if we are taking precautionary measures to help protect our families from dangers where the likelihood of them occurring is, at best, uncertain, why then wouldn’t we, as bible-believing Christians, prepare ourselves for prophesied dangers that are 100% likely to occur? Do we not believe God’s word to be true, or do we just think that, because we are Christians we will somehow be spared by divine intervention?”
