Knitting is a favorite hobby of mine, and I believe it goes well with building Christian camaraderie; much like coffee bars are being utilized by missionaries to spread the word of God around the world.

Knitting originated in the Holy Land! I think that is so cool! Here is a picture of Mary knitting a tunic for the boy Jesus:

So, grab a cup of your favorite beverage, cozy up, and tell us what you are knitting or crocheting!

I will start. :) I am going to knit myself a short skirt in stripes mixed with these two different colorways. I will post pics as I go so you can see what I am talking about. I really wanted some Noro yarn (it is Japanese), but had to settle for this Tangier yarn as it was all my local yarn store had today. I chose colors 16 and 13. It is made in Seattle of silk, acrylic, viscose, cotton, and spandex. I am going to use size 8 rounds for my skirt.

It's 'yarn' you make out of cutting up plastic shopping bags. Love the idea, but the cutting and rolling part's tedious!

Oh. Yeah I have seen that a long time ago. :)

Thanks for posting!

I can stand it if I only cut up one or two shopping bags at a time. And I WILL finish those socks...just now now, lol. :D

(The problem is, I really don't enjoy working with the yarn, Paton's Stretch sock yarn or something like that...but am far too stubborn to frog it).

Nice to see where all the knitting-related posts have gone. A knitting café sounds like a nice idea.

Currently I am knitting a slipper - the second of a pair in funky fur yarn, which has given me a lot of bother - and a doll's jumper for a Christmas shoebox.

Hi to all my knitting friends here!

Nice to read about what people are knitting. Have fun!

I finished the slipper I was knitting, but it looks completely different to the first one and I made the mistake of trying to undo the seam stitching. I think I have undone some of the knitted stitching and have been left with a huge mass of knitted fabric that looks like nothing in particular. I think I might put it to one side and reknit the pattern with normal yarn or a different fuzzy yarn.

I completed the doll's jumper and doll and jumper are now in a shoebox, waiting to be delivered to some little girl who needs them.
