The Churches job is mainly to evangelize and that means converting people who don’t know about Jesus. There is where the teachers are needed.

By the way I did not write the following scripture, and it says the Holy Spirit will teach one everything. Read it and argue with John, he wrote that.

(1 John 2: 27) “But you have not lost the anointing that he gave you, and you do not need anyone to teach you; the anointing he gave teaches you everything: you are anointed with truth, not with a lie, and as it has taught you, so you must stay in him.”

I looked at this in it's context and it seems that this is about people teaching that deny that Jesus is the Christ and denies both the Father and the Son.

1 John 2:23-29
"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father:(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you:but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him"

To be in Jesus is explained in the following scripture.

(1 John 2:6) “But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did”

This is what I'm reading when I look up this verse:

1 John 2:6
"He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked"

It says "says he abides in him ought himself to also walk"

There is no "must" in there.

So it says the same thing. Some bible translations water down the Word some.

(1 John 2:21-27) “It is not because you do not know the truth that I am writing to you but rather because you know it alreadyand know that no lie can come from the truth. The man who denies that Jesus is the Christ—he is the liar, he is Antichrist; and he is denying the Father as well as the Son,1 because no one who has the Father can deny the Son, and to acknowledge the Son is to have the Father as well. Keep alive in yourselves what you were taught in the beginning: “as long as what you were taught in the beginning is alive in you, you will live in the Son, and in the Father; and what is promised to you by his own promise is eternal life.

This is all that I am writing to you about the people who are trying to lead you astray. But you have not lost the anointing that he gave you, and you do not need anyone to teach you;" the anointing he gave teaches you everything;

you are anointed with truth, not with a lie, and as it has taught you, so you must stay in him.”

By the way John said that one who has the Holy Spirit has no need for anyone to teach him or her, and that is not taken out of context.

My verses were taken out of the King James Version. I have never heard anyone say that the KJV is a "watered down bible translation". What version are you quoting from?

The Catholic Church the original Church who assembled the written Word of God, did not authorize the King James Version of the Bible.

Personally I use a number of different English translations, and the least often used is the KJV.

I like the Jerusalem Bible the best, but it is not always very accurate either.

The church was in existence 325 years before it became Romanized and morphed into the Roman Catholic Church. The Bible was canonized OUTSIDE of the Catholic church, which is why the Catholic Bible has the Apocrypha and reads differently in a number of instances.

You may be right, but what you write does not agree with the history that was read by me.

I understood that Constantine the Great commissioned the bible to be assembled.

From my understanding the people who assembled were not fully in agreement to those who took over the leadership of the Church.

I am not much into history, but have read some.

What I know is this, the written Word of God was not needed until the Church stopped obeying the Holy Spirit.

When the Church allowed its members to kill in an Army, it stopped following the Holy Spirit, by disobey Jesus.

Because the Church no longer had the Holy Spirit leading it, then God gave it the written Word. The written Word is a very poor replacement for the Holy Spirit.

My understanding of all this did not come from studding people’s writings of history.

The written Word of God has been twisted by man, and history writings can’t be trusted verily at all.

Here is where your lack of study and knowledge shows openly.

You say it can't be trusted,

1. yet use scripture time and again to prove your points - if it cannot be trusted, why do you quote it as proof?
2. The "twisting" theory was disproven with the discovery of the Dead Sea scrolls.
3. The 'twisting' theory is further discredited by the manor and method in which the Holy Scriptures were transcribed.

It also flies in the face of what Jesus personally told me as I mentioned before.

John. i like what you have written. It makes sense! God bless you!
Thank you, it very rare that anyone can accept what is shared about God, by me.

I know that forty some years ago there would have been no way that I could have accepted what I know now to be the truth.

Jesus personally told me the Christian Bible is God’s written Word.

Man in translating God’s written has watered it down some, but the Holy Spirit lets one know what the truth is.

Jesus personally had me open the bible and showed me in the written Word where it says a Christian is dead to sin. Jesus then taught me how he made that possible.

What is so interesting is that the Jerusalem Bible was the bible that Jesus used to teach me about sin.

I see lots of things today in the church that surely cannot be right? This is not how Jesus would have wanted his church to become
Just to add to what you said.

If the Church was being led by the Holy Spirit, then the bishops/apostles would be walking in the gifts of the apostles.

One of the gifts is discernment. There is no way the Holy Spirit would have had those child molesters, sexually deviant people become priest.

There is no way the church would have accepted the wealthy priest to keep his wealth.

Again, agreed!

I see it all the time. Priests driving luxury cars, in big homes, all the latest technology! Bishops too! Holidays Galore, fancy vestments and fancy Gold this and that! The church is NOT how Jesus would have wanted it. It is corrupt and going in the wrong direction!! And has been for hundreds of years. Only now are my eyes opening to all of this!
